LOL.

He keeps adding a disclaimer that it's a reach while you say stupid [expletive] like Long's a third rounder.

Maybe the 3rd rounder comment was stupid, but I don't disagree that saying the Bears should be applauded for making a shitty pick is silly.

But there is close to a consensus out there on the web. Nobody had him as a 3rd round pick, which is what Goony was wrong about. He can add his caveats like, "it's only because the run on OL" but he's still not right calling him a 3rd round pick.

Dude, the point is it's time to call a spade a spade on this kind of [expletive] pick. That's a terrible pick at that point in the draft, and yes you can talk about good things the kid might do, or talk about how he might actually pan out.

It's still a bad pick, and I guess I'm expecting you of all people to understand that and not try to rationalize it.

And I said that. This whole conversation stems from me saying, "gotta applaud him at least addressing the worst area on the team for the last 4 years". At least he didn't reach for a safety. I guess that's rationalizing it, but I have continually said it's a bad pick and a reach. What more do you want?

Define continually.

I realize as a Chicago management lapdog you have trouble with these discussions so I will just pretend you make any sense at all.

The third round comment was a freaking intentionally hyperbolic comparison to the equivalent level of over draft and all the moronic commentary about how he was next in line and they had to take him or risk losing him in the second. If you can't understand the simple things there's no use

lol vikings thats terrible.

Well, at least that makes me feel better. The Vikings NEED to be capable of reciprocal stupidity, or else the Bears are really screwed.

You're forgetting that GB just drafted a guy who Cutler is likely to become acquainted with.

Apparently the Colts were really high on Long and were likely to take him.

DISCLAIMER: I would still have preferred trading down.

Sorry that was taken the wrong way. I thought I was being clear that I meant at least it was a reach on OL. That is what I meant. If you re-read my post, it's pretty clear I didn't like the pick at that point.

To be fair, it gets really hard to tell when you're being pretend stupid and being for real stupid when that accounts for pretty much 100% of your posts.

Yeah, I got the gist of it. I'm just pissed and don't want to hear any positivity toward emery/the bears right now.

Good pick.

I agree, but worth half the draft? Really steep price.

That's fine. I actually changed it from a paraphrase of, "you guys wanted OL, you got that [expletive] now!"

I'm biased as I love Cordarrelle's freakish athleticism, but with their mediocre offense, I think it might be.

Are there cap implications there since they have to sign 3 first rounders?

Thankfully there's no need for anybody to even worry about anything you have to say on any topic.

Yeah, I wouldn't be to upset giving up 2/3/4 to get one of the top 2 DT, CB, and WR.

The Vikings won this round...

Yeah, 3 first rounders and all look like good prospects.

Paid dearly for that last guy, but isolating the 1st round it's hard to argue.

The rookie pool for a standard draft is around $6m in year one, and only abut half of that counts against the cap due to the top 51 rule. It could make a difference, but nothing too drastic.

Thought so but with new rules I guess having them all in the latter third doesn'tattrr too much

It's times like this that make me realize that I'm definitely not just happy with anything the FOs of my team's do, which I sometimes wonder given how often I find myself defending them. I have been a fan of what Emery has done up until now, but I'm pissed.

I'm pretty sure, despite how huge of a Theo fan I am, that I'd be [expletive] livid if they drafted stanek or something. Thing is, I know they would never do anything that stupid.
