Kobe might not as be good as he used to be but he still has the refs in his back pocket.

I'm surprised they didn't call an and one on his last drive, that dunk was damn impressive though. The Lakers still play awful defense and will have to really battle to the end to get to the 7/8 seed.

I was frustrated he got away with a blatant travel on the play where he got free throws (he did get fouled, but the travel happened first). Also, Teague got hammered on his floater. Should have been an and one.

I don't see the Lakers making the playoffs still. They keep going on mini winning streaks and can't seem to get closer than 2 games back of the 8 seed.

I think they get in somewhere between 6-8 (2 behind the 8 now and 3 behind the 6 and 7). They get GS two more times and HOU once more, Pau should be back soon and for as many scheme issues they have had with him all year he will help. Plus they will get calls in close games down the stretch.

Two weeks from Sunday is where they have their chance to make or break the season, imo. The schedule is pretty average-soft (albeit lots of road games) for a 2-3 week stretch they have the following games below. If they can get 6 wins in there I think they are in.

They also play NO twice yet and ORL once

I think they'll get in before getting pounded by OKC/SA in the first round (they might steal a Game 3 or 4 at home if they're lucky but that's it).

Good lord. I think one time I was able to barely tip the rim....

I knew he got up high there, but didn't know it was that high. How his knee didn't shatter when he came down and landed so awkwardly after that is amazing.

eh, manigault could break a dollar on the top of the backboard. i'm not impressed.

Good point. Let's get LeBron hooked on smack.

I don't know, smack makes you look so much older.

Is that Greg Oden's problem?

Clearly an offensive foul, btw.

I didn't see it live, but from what ppl were saying, he was bracing for impact rather than pushing off.

I'd love to see people challenge James more at the rim. Not that they would block very many shots, but I'd like to see how he would hold up with hard fouls and physical abuse on that huge frame.

I haven't watched much of LeBron's Heat tenure, but when he was with the Cavs he probably got beat up on drives to the basket as much or more than anyone in the league(often times without calls).

Definitely. The guy is just a freak. It's pretty great to watch.

Wow... Lakers definitely looks like they're done for this season. Although OKC should be winning by 20 by now.

Not sure what made Kobe think he could play cuz he was holding his right elbow the entire game until he went out.

I think the thing about why you don't see players challenge him at the rim is that he doesn't do it as often as he used to. When he does attack at the rim, it's usually on fast breaks, backdoor cuts when nobody is looking, or nobody is near him. He pick and chooses when to go at the rim now and instead of driving a bunch and going to the line like he did with the Cavs.

Probably the biggest thing is his improved jump shot over the years. He doesn't have to drive at the rim as much anymore.

I never realized before what a bunch of annoying fucks the Thunder are until tonight. Between Russ, Fisher, Perkins, Ibaka, Thabet and Martin.

What do you mean by done? If you mean they have no chance to win the title, we've known that for a few months now. But they're still right in the playoff hunt - 2.5 behind Utah, 3 behind Houston and 4 behind Golden State with 20 to play.
