Well...if we're being serious, it's probably the most devalued regular season in sports, except for maybe, maybe hockey. Last year, even accounting for the lockout, was instructive.

what was the last team to win an nba title without being one of the top 3-4 seeds?

the nba regular season is a great indicator of how teams will fare in the postseason.

Even accounting for me being too lazy to look it up, if I take that at face value, then finishing 1-4 isn't necessarily instructive? So 50% of the field, then?

i said 1-4 because i'm also too lazy too look it up. i don't think anybody worse than a 3 seed has won a title in a while. again though, lazy.

the celtics thing is just annoying. what did they really accomplish in the postseason last year? they lucked out by not having to play the best team in the nba (bulls) in the second round. then they got the heat without 1/3 of their talent, and still didn't win. i suppose you could make the avery bradley argument, but still. that team was not close to winning a title last year.

Wait, what? They didn't luck out; the Bulls lost because of nee hurding, and given that Rose was hurd all year long, I'm not convinced that even if nee didn't break, they would have beaten a Celtics team that was really locked in. And they took Miami to 7 games, and arguably could have closed it out in 6 were it not for a career game from LeBron.

you're really going to say that the celtics getting to play an 8 seed instead of a 1 seed in the 2nd round wasn't a lucky break?

and they took miami to 7 because chris bosh wasn't there.

and yea, they were so locked in that they almost lost to the 8 seed. the bulls would have THRASHED them.

i already mentioned avery bradley.

chris bosh >>>>>>>> avery bradley

Wait, are people seriously pretending that the Celtics making the conference finals last year and making it interesting was anything but the result of a ridiculously lucky sequence of events?

And that the Bulls wouldn't have beaten them relatively easily had Rose not been lost?

The person who constantly says borderline trolling things to rile up Bulls fans is.

The celtics haven't beaten a good team in a playoff series since lebrons cavs.

The Bulls haven't beaten a team as good as last year's Hawks team since 1998.

You're awful. Please go away.

Hey guys, I have an idea for a fun discussion. Which team that isn't good enough to beat the Heat is better?

Dammit I wanted to talk about the Knicks.

Sorry. Regular season discussion is strictly off limits.

I cannot wrap my head around the idea that some people dont like Stacey King

He comes across as loud, obnoxious, catchphrase-happy and almost Harrelson-esque to some viewers, among other issues. I suppose I can understand that, even if I don't agree with it.

my god, this offense has no options at all

Meh...some nights we're just not going to be able to come up with enough offense to win. The last couple of years we could survive poor shooting nights but that's not always going to be the case this year. Also, due to the lack of depth compared to last year, its gonna be harder to win the 2nd of back to backs.
