Weird. A real, live human being is a more effective QB than the statue of Dayne Crist we've been rolling out there all season. Wish we could've figured that out a few games ago.

Marcus Lattimore has ridiculous balance and leg strength.

I'm laughing at raisin suddenly not having an interest in the game after whining about the outcome for 5 posts.

I could give a [expletive] how you feel about ND or its fans

So you can't argue that a call was wrong in a couple posts unless you were rooting for the team that you thought was wronged?

Matt Millen has a massive love affair with Cordarelle Patterson, which concerns me considering his track record with WRs.

He was saying earlier that Patterson is a better weapon than Hunter. Patterson's a terrific athlete, but I don't see how there's any basis to that.

Yes, that's the rule. It has nothing to do with the tone of his posts. It's a hard line rule. Don't cross it.

if there's anything notre dame fans won't tolerate it's someone having a rooting interest in a team they have no connection to whatsoever.

Oh no, it's the "[expletive] ND fans who didn't graduate from ND" brigade! This is a brand-new and interesting argument!

A&M leads Louisiana Tech 59-51 with a minute left. Tech driving. It's on ESPNU and ESPN3.

Who would have thought Texas Tech would hold Geno Smith to his worst game of the year so far?

He had 38 incompletions in five games before today and had 26 today.

In other Big 12 news:

That's Case McCoy, who was flagged on the play for sideline interference.

So, do you think Florida is better yet? I'll admit the Titans are better than Jacksonville in exchange, but that feels like a cripple fight.

Well, it was fun being ranked for two weeks. Back to irrelevancy.

At least you made it 2 weeks. Tennessee got into the top 25 and then immediately crapped out in the second half against an inferior Florida team. Fun stuff.

I'm willing to admit that UF is just average, but worse than Tenn? Really?

Not considerably so, but we pretty well controlled the first two and a half quarters of the game. We fell flat on our face from about the middle of the third on, but I do think Tennessee is a little bit better team than Florida.

It's nitpicking, though, since I agree that neither team is better than average overall.

I think we can all agree that Ohio State is the worst 7-0 team in football right now. I think Penn State has a great chance of beating them

Haha, at this point I'm not convinced the Titans are better than Jacksonville.

But yes, I think Florida is better than Tennessee. I do think Tennessee's talent level is better than its record, as the record is being held down by our transition to the 3-4 (and don't underestimate Mississippi State - they're a really solid team). I also still say the Vols should have won the Florida game, but if the two teams played 10 times, Florida probably wins 6-7 of those matchups.

Their defense is awful. They're lucky they play in the Big 10.

Well, after a somewhat promising start to the season Danny Hope is back to being terrible. Getting murdered by down Michigan and Wisconsin teams is embarrassing.

in things only interesting to me, Jake Ryan won big ten defensive player of the week

"Ryan tied a career high with 11 tackles, including seven solo, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble."

he came in as an afterthought when Rich Rod missed on some higher targets, and even as a RS SO is now looking like a possible future day one pick; he looks and plays like Clay Matthews III

pretty exciting to have that kind of defensive coaching now

I hope he becomes just as good as his brother/cousin (whatever he is) John and even blows out your head coach's knee on the sideline.

no relation...i think that guy was Paul Ryan's kid

looking at wikipedia brought me back to one of my favorite plays ever in college football

In the January 3, 2012 Sugar Bowl 23–20 overtime victory against Virginia Tech, Ryan had 4 tackles for a loss, including one sack and one 22-yard loss by David Wilson.

he didn't even fumble or anything, just kept running backward to avoid getting tackled sooner
