How the hell did Michigan get a 1st place vote in the AP preseason poll?

 

I mean that means that one person out there thinks that Michigan should be favored over Alabama on a neutral field. I love everything that is going on with UM over the last year and think they are looking like contenders in a year or two but they are clearly a few steps behind the top 4-5 teams.

I do not argue that the SEC is not the best conference usually. I just have always argued that their perception is mightier than their reality. I enjoyed this read though there was some flaws in the writers logic.

The Western Athletic Conference, hit hard by conference realignment, will drop football after the upcoming 2012 season, reports The Denver Post‘s Irv Moss.

 

“I think that sometime in late July it became apparent that it was unlikely we could continue with football,” WAC commissioner Jeff Hurd told Moss. “We looked at every option we could think of. With the geography we have in terms of schools, it presents a challenge.”

Texas will have two LHN games this year, their first two. No Big 12 games on LHN apparently.

 

So Texas and Texas State will have the same number of football games on Texas's network.
