Peralta looking good? Thru 6, his stats do for sure. 2 hits allowed, and 4K's. In other news, Torreyes is 2-4 with a double and Szczur is 2-4, with 2 doubles and a steal.

Just out of curiosity, how many XBH has Javy had to right field this year?

He's throwing strikes. I only remember one 3 ball count so far and only a couple hard hit balls. Got two dribblers back to the mound in the 6th that he handled easily. He's got some filling out to do too. Just has that look of a guy who will add some muscle as he matures.

I think he's doing WTF he wants to again.

Kaplan told me he was struggling.

Speaking of that stupidity...

Peoria

When it comes to the Peoria Chiefs, Javier Baez has been the good, the bad and the one to watch. The Cubs 2011 first round selection is hitting .310 with six homers and 14 RBI’s. He also touts an .887 OPS and 14 stolen bases in 15 attempts. My only concern is Baez's ability to deliver day in and day out. He is young, therefore errors of the metal and physical brand are both to be expected. Baez has been white hot at times and arctic cold at others. He has big play ability and I am convinced he will find his way to the north side sometime in the next few years. The physical tools are all there, with the only question being his makeup and approach. If he shows solid maturity, he could justify his high first round selection in the 2011 MLB First Year Player Draft.

Ok, I'm in love with Baez. Geiger just got crossed up by a runner going in front of him and booted a ball. Baez backed him up, grabbed it in shallow left and gunned the guy at home very easily. Guy has a cannon. He flied out to right on the first pith of his second AB.

I would agree with the assessment that Baez has a cannon for an arm. I saw him play the other day in Peoria against the Burlington B's.

I imagine Dave Kaplan finds it tragic that Giancarlo Stanton will never fulfill the tremendous potential that Mike Stanton once possessed.

Don't know if that was the first time that joke was used, but that was good.

Nope, the gun was off. He appeared to be throwing pretty hard. Suarez looked like he threw the hardest of the 3 Chiefs pitchers, Peralta next and then Wang. Wang had some nasty, really late break on whatever he was throwing. Hard to tell if it was a slider or a splitter from where I was sitting. Suarez looked really good tonight.

Haha, Trey Lang's real name is Carl. Also, I didn't realize he was so big for some reason. 6'3, 225. Damn

Cubs 14th Round pick Corbin Hoffner also apparently made his debut in AZ, throwing a perfect inning with 2 Ks

Also, Vogelbach HR #4

Should I be concerned that he doesn't have five yet?

Probably. I'll be sure to keep you up to date on the matter.
