Trey Martin is now a Boise Hawk. Pretty pumped to see what he can do there.

Did they send Dunston down to Mesa? Or just let them share CF duties and play less of the Gonzalez/Kim type outfielders?

Posted
They sent Paulino down. I'll be very surprised if both Martin and Dunston aren't in the everyday lineup. As far as CF goes, I guess they split time.

Paulino 4ip 12h 7r 5er 0w 4k. Hopefully he gets back to dominating next outing. This is the DSL1 Paulino, to clarify, not Amaury.

Peoria:

Baez with a single the other way, but got picked off for his first CS of the year (now 11/12).

Jensen with 1 unearned (E on Geiger) through 2IP (3K/0BB)

Daytona:

Szczur 1/2 (now .292) with a BB and 2 R

Del Valle gave up 2 HR in the first but has settled down and is at 5IP 4H 3R 2BB 3K 2HR

Roni Torreyes hits a home run for the second straight night and it's 8-3 Cubbies in the 5th

Torreyes is 2-2 with a double.

I can't believe he still had a .237 BABIP going into tonight. He's going to be really underrated on the upcoming lists.

Make it 3-3, after a HR!

Torreyes' May barely seems possible. 9 hits on 71 balls in play.

Torreyes is 19 all season long, playing High A ball. That's impressive, in it's own right and his K rate shows he's been extremely unlucky, until recently. He's showing surprising pop too, especially for the FSL. Right now, Alcantara and him are 9 and 10, on my top 30, in some order, with Baez, Soler, Almora, Brett, Candelario, Szczur, Vitters, and Lake as the top 8. In close to that order probably.

Tony Zych was promoted to Tennessee. He just entered the Smokies game.

I'm in line with you. The lack of pitching there makes me a sad panda though.

Alcantara is 20 and is more than holding his own in the FSL. I don't follow the farm as much as I used to but it feels like he came out of nowhere. I'd like to see some more patience (12BB/51K in 288AB) but for a kid that doesn't turn 21 until October he's coming along nicely. Where was he on your top 30 last year?

Posted
Actually, he didn't make it. Probably was in my 35-45 range. I'm hoping the bat is real. The defense evidently CAN come along though, so that's a positive. He's been around a while, it seems, so I probably should have had him in my top 30, from last year, just based on holding his own in the MWL as a 19 year old.

How big is Torreyes, and how big is he expected to get? What position do most see him ending up at (I know he's only 19 and it's still a guessing game at this point)?

Torreyes is a little guy, 5-9 at the most. He's a 2B now and a 2B he will stay.
