so what is the price of getting all the RSN's, and why would DirecTV allow you to do that and circumvent the EI package?

Again, you aren't circumventing EI. Bob doesn't get Dodger and Yankee games on their RSNs, he gets the 6 teams that have territorial rights in his area.

Does you pay for that a la carte, or is it part of the "sports package"? I ask because, as I said earlier, DirecTV told me that I couldn't get FSN Pittsburgh here in Columbus.

It's part of the sports package, which last I checked, was in the same pricing as the premium movie channels.

I just checked the DirecTV site, and I COULD get the Pittsburgh station, but only with the top tier channel package.

In other words, Bob is loaded and spending mad money on his TV

Yes, I'm ridiculously rich.

I think the sports pack is like $10/month.

Granted it's been years since I looked into it, but wasn't there a time when the sports pack would basically give you everything on the RSN's BUT the good games? LIke CSN would give you the Sports Reporters and stuff but not the Bulls games? Or was that only for out-of-region RSN's?

The sports pack does give you everything but the games on the individual RSNs that are outside your viewing area.

Yes, that's the package I mentioned looking into. I didn't realize anyone actually got that, but I suppose if you're in the 'territory' of a bunch of MLB teams like Bob is, there is some value to that package.

Plus I get a bajillion high school and college football games to watch in the fall. There's also lacrosse, fishing, and the WPT if you're into those types of shenanigans.

Any dodge ball on any of those?

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/tv-blackout-case-against-mlb-at-critical-point.html

The May 9 antitrust suit filed by four fans against MLB and the National Hockey League is nearing a critical moment, when federal Judge Shira Scheindlin, of New York's Southern District, could decide whether she'll hear the trial. Sometime Friday, baseball will file a brief in Garber et al v. MLB that tries to convince Scheindlin to dismiss the case.

Sports law experts versed in Garber et al v. MLB don't see that outcome as likely – and do believe the plaintiffs' case is strong enough to at least force MLB to reconsider the antiquated policy that leaves some areas with as many as six games a night blacked out because the league refuses to rid itself of the absurd territorial rights that govern its broadcasting schedule.

Much more at the link.

Even if you aren't in one of those loaded territories, it makes for an excellent companion to EI as it allows you to see the pre/post shows.

What's a jib?

Sailors have a tendency to apply terminology related to ships to other aspects of life. A jib is a small triangular sail before the main sail on large ships and cutters. Many countries used different cuts and displayed their colors on the jib. When "cut of the jib" is applied to men, it means "your stylistic choices" .

Treebeard/Tree/Treeman/Treymon has a way of making a point with whit, that cuts right to the heart of the matter. Many people here are crazy excited about "financial flexibility" and high draft picks when neither of those things mean anything if the Cubs are not trying to win at the major league level.

I hope that helps.
