I do think it's kind of awesome that Steve Nash and Jason Richardson's "issue" could get more attention because of this potential deal.

What's the issue?

The NBA is a joke

Oh, so you're going to give up on it, right?

If the Lakers do indeed get Howard, I guess the next 5 years won't be too enjoyable with the Heat/OKC/Lakers probably winning the next 5 titles. Those teams are and will be stacked. I will watch from afar and resent the fact that Chicago made zero effort to get serious about Howard.

There was nothing to get serious about; he doesn't want to play here.

The Bulls should've MADE him want to play here though.

Nash divorced his wife the day after their baby was born. It was black.........Richardson was traded within days.

It was Leandro Barbosa, not J Rich.

Just like he didn't want to play in LA?

In the photo shoot she did with her kids, they all look white.

LA had been in and out as a place he might end up at. It's been pretty clear from the start that Chicago essentially had and has zero chance to keep him.

Before this report, all the reports indicated Howard wanted no part of LA just as much as he did Chicago. In fact, one of the reports from last trade deadline said that Howard waived his player option in order to convince Orlando not to trade him to the Lakers. LA has stayed in the picture as has Houston because until now, LA didn't demand a Howard extension in order to pull off a deal.

Exactly. If anything, he's realized this is turning into a nightmare and wants it to be over. He has also realized there is almost a zero chance that he ends up with Brooklyn unless he somehow manages to hit FA which is unlikely.

LA still makes infinitely more sense than Chicago even if he was saying no before. He apparently wants a big, glamorous city like NYC, and LA is basically the next best thing, and he wants a good team he'll be the star on. Would he be the star in LA right now? No, but Kobe is not long for the court, and then the team is all his. He apparently has zero interest in Chicago and it's Rose's team. I'd be all for trading for him just for one year if Rose was actually healthy, but it makes no [expletive] sense to do it with the year they're facing.

I have zero issue pulling for the Lakers over the Heat.

Same here.

How the hell did Kupchak get Nash, Jamison, and looks like Howard, while basically losing Sessions, Bynum, and some other loser. He must have blackmail pics of all the other GM's!!!

Deng is having a nice game against Team USA.

Also, Robert Archibald apparently plays for Great Britain.

He married a good friend of mine growing up. Always interesting to see updates from her.

Deal is done

Lakers get Howard

76ers get Bynum and J. Richardson

Nuggets get Iguodala

Magic get Afflalo, Harrington, Vucevic and 3 protected first rounders from all 3 teams

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8252042/sources-dwight-howard-los-angeles-lakers-four-team-deal-complete

Why in the [expletive] would Denver do this deal? I'd rather have Afflalo than Iguodala, and they gave up Harrington and a first for the hell of it.

Iguadola's a more well rounded player. Rebounds the ball quite a bit better, dishes out many more assists, and is considered a better defender as well (although Afflalo is no slouch in that department either). Afflalo is a better shooter, but I'm not sure what else he does better. I'm not sure if that's worth giving up Harrington and a first, but I think Iguadola is better.
