Oh my god I think I just saw Marlins guy in my hotel lobby. I was too stunned to throw things at him.

Geez, Shields almost up to a 4 ERA now. Was just about to make a "what if he chose the right team post?" Not that he still wouldn't have helped, but he must've been getting shelled recently because I remember him starting out amazing.

exactly one-quarter of his FBs have left the park, so when that straightens out some, he'll have top of the rotation numbers (his 3.02 xFIP is 12th-best in baseball)

Yeah I didn't even check the peripherals. Was browsing through the leaderboards and was just surprised how far the counting numbers fell so quickly.

I read that as Fast Balls instead of Fly Balls and had a brief "holy [expletive]" moment

That was a very uncharacteristic panic/we don't like this guy move by the Cards. I didn't get it when they did it and it certainly doesn't look any better now. My biggest problem with it was the fact that they were relying on Wacha and Wainwright for big innings and both were coming off injuries and the only backup they had were unproven or injury risk guys.

heyward seemed like such a good bet to play the same amazing defense and ride a solid uptick on offense to downballot mvp consideration. i guess there's still time, but his peripherals don't exactly suggest he just needs his luck to normalize.

You should have killed him on the spot. Marlins guy was at the Preakness(at the finish line) on Sat. and behind home plate last night @ the Cardinals game. He tried to stay in the front row(when the ticketholder got up and briefly left), then security moved him out. He moved to a 3rd row seat, but still within the camera angle. Now if this was Morganna the Kissing Bandit I wouldn't mind, but he's not.

David-Don't know if you remember the rainbow hair guy and his John: 3:16 sign, who somehow found tix to do the same thing back in the day. He was equally annoying. I can understand if you're a die-hard for your team and are watching your team. But that's not the case here and he's just a publicity whore. Much like that couple that kept crashing parties, even the White House and saw nothing wrong with it. They should be punished by being forced to watch Marlins home games from the front row.

Hey, Rainbow Guy turned out to be a genuine religious nut who was kidnapping people and wanted to shoot down planes, so maybe taking out Marlins Guy would be a pre-emptive strike.

Yea that whole killing thing feels a bit too far.

 

Also, can confirm it was him as he was at the Preakness. Son of a bitch.

 

Between that and inadvertently having lunch at the same table as Dan Duquette, I had a weird sports week.
