Just realized that Joey Votto has 33 doubles, and ESPN has his pace set at 69 doubles this season, which would break the MLB record of 67. Probably won't happen, but still... Joey Votto is good

Reds prospect Billy Hamilton stole two bases with High-A Bakersfield on Monday night to give him 100 for the season.

Hamilton needed just 78 games to get there. The all-time single-season professional record for stolen bases is 145, set by Vince Coleman in 1983 for the Class A Macon Redbirds. If he keeps up his current rate, there's a realistic chance he could break it.

It's been a while since there's been a really prolific base-stealer. Even though he's in the Reds system, I'm rooting for him. He'd be a lot of fun to watch.

It's amazing how Trevor Plouffe has come from nowhere to just dominate over the last 2 months.

Last 36 games: .311/.365/.726/1.091 16 HR, 30 RBI

72 HR pace over a full season

Who the [expletive] is Drew Sutton?

he goes to the same swing doctor that Ben Zobrist has; i've been intrigued by him for awhile, for no other reason than that Zobrist went from a 33 OPS+ player (SSS, i know) to a 126 OPS+ player after seeing that guy

oh, and

Trevor Floukke

vs. RHP: .759 OPS (.285 OBP)

vs. LHP: 1.225 OPS

bases empty: .484 wOBA, 16 HR

men on base: .242 wOBA, 3 HR

he also has hit 18/19 of his HR to LF

I was at the Twins/Royals game on Sunday and he hit two out. The fans love him because they can yell "PLOOOOOOOOOUUUUUFFE" when he does something good. Pretty good place to see a game too. Sat in the 300 level about even with 3rd base and had a really good view and was in the shade the whole game. Got seat for $20 that had a face of $25, so I was happy with that too.

So?

The biggest annoyance about White Sox fans is their supposed fixation on the Cubs results and caring more about them than the White Sox results. Them beating the Rangers really doesn't affect the Cubs in the slightest.

No, but it is a slight justification to their terrible payroll decisions and the fact that Sale and Quintana are the new Koufax and Drysdale, which is annoying. They have had a garbage farm system for years, but somehow remain competitive and make the playoffs about as often as far more well run teams, which is also annoying.

They've been to the playoffs 4 times in the last 27 years. Twice in the last 11 years. Haven't made the playoffs two years in a row in franchise history.

This year is rather annoying because in the offseason they got as close to admitting they were rebuilding than ever before and somehow they are going to make the playoffs despite that.

1 World Series title in 90+ years, yet their fans act like their franchise is accustomed to being world champions.

They are getting revival seasons from Dunn, Rios and Peavy. AJ is having the typical free agency year success. They are getting success from rookie pitchers that nobody thought anything about, not named Addison Reed. Yes it is allstill annoying but I do think their pitching staff will eventually fall apart as I don't trust Peavy and Sale to stay healthy and the rest of the league will catch up to their mediocre rookie pitchers.

How do I hate the White Sox? Let me count the ways:

- Their obnoxious fans who care more about the Cubs losing than their own team

- Hawk Harrelson

- Kenny Williams' smugness

- Their conniving owner who uses Pud Selig as his own personal puppet
