i'm not big on this "rivalry" but i am surprised to see that we're about to be only a half game worse than the white sox. i felt like there had been a lot of positive white sox talk so far this season.

They've had vintage Peavy and Dunn, but that's about it. Rios started strong, but fell off a cliff. They might actually be better off this way. I could see them being a .500 team but nothing special, but if thyre awful they could really cash in Peavy and Konerko. Maybe even move Dunn and most of his contract if he can hang in there. Did they extend Floyd, because there's another guy who could be worth a lot.

This team has things happening each game that will wind up meaning more in the longterm, so the wins mean more to me. No, we're not a great team obviously. But tonight saw LaHair and Stewart go back to back, Campana make some plays, Castro come through in the clutch, Russell finish a game out, and Shark take another step towards being a legit part of our future. Everyone I just mentioned has a chance to be in our longterm plans actually. Something is just more satisfying watching these guys succeed individually and especially when it results in a W.

So what's the deal with Rizzo? How long do we have to wait to have full control of him? He's clearly ready and this team still has a legit shot at making the playoffs or at least making a run at it. Why not give this a shot putting LaHair in the outfield?

Great game tonight. Fun to be at, fun to see everyone play well. Let's keep it up and actually resemble a semi-contender.

172 days is one year of service time. I'm pretty sure Rizzo has 68. My math could be wrong (in fact all my numbers could be wrong) but I think that would mean that May 22 would be the soonest he could come up without burning a full year of service time.

Oh wait, seriously though, Sveum needs to get on top of having pitchers warming up if he's going to be putting Marmol in with the lead. That was totally brutal again, only a great shift preventing a big inning. I was getting so pissed watching Marmol walk away the game again and Sveum not doing anything. Edited by pitchcs

What are you talking about? Camp was ready to go.

I know Camp was up earlier in the game for a bit but he didn't get up until Marmol let 2 on + in the 8th.

Not good enough, Carlos sucks right now, needs to be up after first guy walks.

I'm pretty sure it's been figured on here that it's way later than that.

I believe it's about the All Star Break.

Gammons said on Twitter a scout told him a comp for Shark is a healthy Josh Johnson. 98 MPH FB. Great tilt to slider. Filthy split. 91 MPH cutter.

Are we to agree with him because we like what he said or is it the dementia talking again? I'm surprised that he didn't add that we should send him to the Red Sox as compensation for Carpenter.

I think it's the first positive thing Gammons has said about the Cubs since Theo got here. Either way, I would have posted that no matter who said it.

Was that Shark talking [expletive] to Heyward after the double play?

He yelled something back that way, not sure who it was directed at.

It had to have been at Heyward. Not sure what Comcast showed, but I was at a bar watching the Braves broadcast (without sound, unfortunately) but Shark had some fire in his his eyes and was looking back towards 2B where Heyward was as he was yelling.

i know making fun of gammons is the cool thing to do now, but the guy had a aneurysm. He's not demented.

Shark is a better athlete with better mechanics....Knock on wood but I don't see TJ in Shark's future.
