So glad they pressured Theo into signing Woody.

It's probably a 90 loss team, what does it really matter?

He's taking the spot of someone who could contribute in a few years

doubtful. But even if he is, there's probably just as much value, if not more, in keeping that imaginary player in the minors. Relievers lose value in a hurry once you start to have to pay them.

I didn't mind us resigning Woody, but it's probably only because Ricketts forced it on Theo. Our pen would suck with or without him though, so in the end, it doesn't really matter.

OTOH, we need some runs, if we're going to win this game.

Theo's telling Tom right now that this is why you don't cave in to fan pressure.

With the way this bullpen has struggled, I would advise against walking someone to bring up the tying run even if it's Matt Kemp.

omg, can the doom and gloom people please get the [expletive] out

Curious, what would qualify as a doom and gloom person right now? Watching wood walk the leadoff hitter and give up 2 runs in the 8th is going to bring out a few negative thoughts in anybody.

He got the leadoff hitter out on one pitch, actually. The only real mistake was just not putting Kemp on with first base open.

calling wood "done" after 3 innings is a little much for me. maybe "doom and gloom" is the wrong phrase, but whatever.

I changed my mind. Wood's biggest mistake that inning was that he was leaving his fastball up, which may have been a product of not pitching for three weeks.

His career has been in decline for at least a year now.

Campana's OPS dips back below .700.

He's never going to hit for power, so the biggest thing holding him back at this point is his walk rate, which was atrocious coming into today.

Kemp due up 4th in the 9th, so...a 1-2-3 inning would be fantastic. I just hope the hitters manage to hit everything at defenders. And that the defenders make the play right.
