Was Maholm struggling much in the sixth? He was only at 88 pitches so I'm curious as to why he was removed.

 

could be feeling the effects of the liner that Gordon hit off his knee

 

That would make sense. Didn't know he was hit in the knee.

He got hit with a batted ball in the sixth and was struggling a bit afterwards.

Elbert has thrown 21 pitches to three batters and got none of them out yet (Campana was caught stealing, though).

 

EDIT: Which prompts a pitching change already. Looks like it's time for a cup of Coffey.

I love the way that big fat guy sprints from the bullpen to the mound and then looks winded.
