Gene Keady elected to the College Basketball Hall of Fame

Congrats to him. He was a great coach and is an awesome guy.

I don't think there's been a better coach at an elite astronaut school.

Iowa beats Maryland by 11, will play Baylor in the championship Thursday. Marble has been an absolute stud in the NIT. Iowa has won all 4 games by 11+.

Assuming those that are slotted for the first round end up leaving (Zeller, Olapido, Burke, GRIII, among others who could declare), could you make the argument that Iowa could be the preseason favorite for the big ten, or at least third behind OSU and MSU? They looked awfully good last night and look to have figured out how to close teams. I had no idea how many close losses they had during the B1G season.

No. Just no.

Iowa's looked awfully good playing other teams who also weren't good enough to make the tournament.

Dan Dakich has been saying that for 3 weeks. I think they should be projected top 5 for sure, but the favorite is too far.

Iowa gets some supposed shooters next year and that was their weakness this year (shooting), combine that with the experience factor and Iowa should be a tournament team for sure.

I think they could have an outside chance at winning the conference (though there is no way they are favorites) but they'd have to have a lot go right. Having someone who can score consistently who isn't Aaron White or Devon Marble would be a start.

Pitino replaced by Tubby.

Tubby replaced by Pitino.

Gillispie replaced Tubby.

Tubby basically replaced Gillispie with an interim thrown in the middle.

Not trying to be politically incorrect or condoning his behavior at all, but anyone else notice his stammering during his statement today?

I'm wondering if he started reacting that way as a coach because he has difficulty expressing himself through speech. Perhaps that was what he was alluding to when he mentioned how he wasn't going to "make excuses" and maybe he'll say more at a later time.

Um, no. Tubby replaced Pitino at UK. Pitino (the younger) just got hired to replace Tubby at Minnesota. The internets have much information.....

Um, yes. Tubby basically replaced Gillispie at TTU, but there was an interim coach for this year, hence the "basically" comment.

Not exactly sure why but Dan Guerrero was extended through 2019. I imagine that's 2 more football hires and 1 more basketball.

@KegsnEggs: http://bit.ly/ZdYCga RT @SIPeteThamel: UCLA has extended Dan Guerrero's contract through 2019, the school announced today.

Looks like Burke and Hardaway Jr are both going pro. Burke is absolutely no surprise, and Hardaway is not really a surprise, but I was hoping he'd come back for his senior year.

we're getting two great recruits at their positions, but yeah, there goes all of our leadership and who ever really knows what the full effect of that will be

Iowa's running away with the B1G next year, so why bother.

Well, damn. I didn't know Gllispie had gotten canned (again) and Tubby had replaced him.

Well it's a good thing you were so smug while you were being completely clueless on the topic.
