[expletive] like that takes away from watching the tourney. The refs refused to allow the 1-seed to lose instead of just letting the teams play.

I chuckled that Syracuse was almost allowed to shoot 3 free throws the last time they went to the line. He made the first two, and then everybody stood there and he was about to release the third one when somebody finally woke up (I don't know if it was a ref or the scorers table) and told them he couldn't shoot any more! That was a fitting finish for those last few minutes.

Who was calling the game? I've been watching on mute.

I was listening in the car and the radio announcers were beside themselves with each call.

Even with the win, the Syracuse players should be throwing a blanket party for Melo. Work hard all year for the rare chance to win a title and your star player can't even pull D's in class? I'd be livid if he was my teammate and cost me the shot at the championship

Kevin Harlan, Len Elmore and Reggie Miller.

I was raised in Asheville, so I certainly was on the edge of my seat. Worst way that game could have finished up. I hope they get banned for the rest of this tournament. Pathetic.

Harvard making a run here. Only down five with 1:51 left.

35.5% of ESPN's 7 millionish brackets had the first 8 games all being favorites winning

Not too surprising since all of the higher seeded teams won.

How did West Virginia get to play in Pittsburg?

The selection committee has no idea of the relationship between the two? This sort of geographical event happens every year, but I trust the committee to have no idea of their relationship.

Hell, what percent of the country thinks WV was in the South vs in the North in the Civil War?

Other then the refs blatently screwing a small school, this day has been terribly boring. If you exclude teams that were down by 4 with a minute left and the other team is shooting FTs every possession, not a single game has gone down to the wire.

Too many blowouts.

Yeah, eliminating the ref-rape game, this has been the worst fist day I can remember.

Hoping Wichita State can change that.

If not we're probably going to have to wait until the later games because Gonzaga is rolling and Baylor, though only up 8, has been controlling that game after a rough start.
