Badgers looking solid. Taylor back to his junior year form (17 points, 8 boards, 6 assists, 0 TOs).

It's Montana. Granted, I have UW going to the Elite 8 in one of my two brackets.

We lost twice to Iowa this year, so I'm not taking anything for granted.

Plus it's the tournament. Gotta get out of the first weekend, no matter who you play.

Iowa might be the best team ever assembled. The rest of the B1G better pray.

Weird play at the end of the half in the UNC Asheville-Syracuse game.

Syracuse player airballs a shot with the shot clock winding down. A teammate rebounds it, is fouled while going up and makes the shot. They initially rule it good with a FT coming. But the refs reviewed the play and it showed that he didn't get the shot off in time. However, the foul occurred with one second left on the shot clock. They correctly took off the two points but then gave the ball to Asheville.

Shouldn't that be two shots for Syracuse? Even though it was a shot clock violation, the foul occurred first so theoretically, the shot clock violation shouldn't have happened.

If I were writing the rule book it would be. Don't know if they screwed it up. After the replays the announcers sounded like someone had told them the rules said it shouldn't be a shot/foul.

I'm just glad Syracuse didn't get a chance to score.

When was the last time a 16 had the lead at the half?

I think they said it was the 6th or 7th time it had happened.

And Long Beach probably shouldn't have greased their hands before starting the game.

Wouldn't that depend on if the shot clock expired before the foul / while the shot was in the air?

He was fouled before he shot it, after he jumped, and before the clock expired.

1) he jumped to shoot 2) he was fouled 3) clock went off 4) he released the ball.

The shot clock definitely didn't go off before the foul. But it definitely was before the shot was released, and it was close on whether it was before the referee actually called the foul (you can see his arm start to go up as the clock hits zero). Just a very strange play.

Doesn't the clock stop on the whistle? If the clock got to the number equal to the shot clock being at zero it doesn't matter when the foul "occurred"

But if the foul is "on the shot", and the shot doesn't count because of a shot-clock violation, then technically, the foul shouldn't count.

Is continuation not written into the rulebook?
