Bonnies are playing well against FSU and up six at halftime. This would be a big blow to a lot of brackets.

Never really liked FSU that much, and I think they got overseeded based on conference tourney results.

I didn't either, which is why I picked Cincy to knock them out. But I think they were the trendy pick to come out of that region after the back-to-back wins over UNC and Duke plus Fab Melo being ineligible.

I agree that Florida State is being overrated . . . and really struggled whether to pick them or Cincinnati to make the Sweet Sixteen. However, if they make the Sweet Sixteen, Florida State matches up great with Ohio State; and I think the top of half of that region could get blown up (which you allude to). So I don't think Florida State to the Final Four is crazy.

What the hell Alabama? Terrible coaching at the end.

They should have called a foul at the end there. Grant shouldn't have called the timeout with 2.4 left though.

Yeah, that was a horrendous time for a timeout.

Yeah, that was a horrendous time for a timeout.

Grant said he called it because Creighton switched into a zone and his kids weren't ready for it. I'd say it was more McDermott coaching well than Grant messing up.

Just once I want a 16 seed to win. Go Vermont.

I think illiniguy's head would explode if that happened.

Terrible last possession for the Bonnies.

I didn't mind the first 2 point attempt, there was enough time left to make it and foul and get another chance. But once that guy gets the rebound, he has to be smart enough to kick it out for a desperation 3. How do you lose track of time left that badly?

For some reason I feel like all season I've seen a lot more terrible decisions at the end of basketball games then ever before. People taking halfcourt heaves with 4 seconds still left, shooting a heavily contested 2 with 2 seconds left down 3, fouling in a tie game, etc.

i've learned a few things when you're down with seconds to go:

1. no matter what the announcer says, you always need a 3

2. you don't throw it short with under 4 seconds to go and you have to go the length of the court

3. don't pass it to your 7 foot goof

I didn't mind the first 2 point attempt but even on that one, the defense was collapsing and there was an open player on the wing to the guy's left. Would have been an easy pass to make.

So where's the line between "I don't care if this screws my bracket, I'm rooting for the upset" and "12s beat 5s every year, I want my bracket team to win"?

2-15? 3-14?

For me it depends on the prestige of the school, I always cheer for non big time school as I don't enter any pools so my brackets are for fun. Like yesterday, I wanted San Diego State to beat NC State even though the Aztecs were the higher seed.

The answer is always cheer for Kansas to lose no matter what, same apllies to Duke unless they are playing Kansas.

Out of curiosity--why the hate for KU? Because of Self? Because you live in KC and are surrounded by KU fans?

I don't even like the first 2 point attempt. Reasonable best case scenario is that he makes it with 5 seconds on the clock, team fouls, other team makes 1 of 2, and then you rush it up court for an ok look at a game tying 2 or game winning 3. Look at how many ifs there are in that scenario vs just passing it out for an ok look at a game tying 3.

Under 10 seconds left, IMO the only 2 you can take in that situation is a dunk or open layup.
