BradBiggs: #Bears will place 3rd round draft pick S Brandon Hardin on injured reserve a week after he suffered neck injury last Saturday vs. Redskins.

Sucks for him. If he plays opening day next year, it will be his first game that matters since 12-4-2010. That's a span of 33 months.

The Bears informed wide receiver Chris Summers, safety Trevor Coston and defensive end Derek Walker they will be placed on waivers, according to multiple sources. Two sources also say that offensive lineman Nick Peischel has a knee injury that will prevent him from making the squad.

Summers was extremely intriguing. He's 6'5" and made some great "high-point" catches in preseason. But I don't think the Bears would have been able to sneak him to the practice squad. Someone will pick him up for their P-squad though, or maybe a team with a deep WR corps will keep him as their 6th to develop.

the thing about the offense with cutler is that it's always been so hard to predict, dangerous because it has potential but it still shoots itself in the foot a lot of the time. it's like a wounded animal, it will flop all over the place and then when you move in for the kill, it will bite you in the nuts and you will fall over and die. there will be like 2 false starts and then forte will run into chris williams and fall down for a 5 yard loss, cutler will badly over throw a receiver on the next play, then he would hit knox for a 30 yard gain for a first down, rinse, wash repeat. does anybody else see the same thing? it's odd.

Yes dating back to Rex we'll look dangerous on offense once or twice per half and then its keystone cops out there.

Hopefully they fill it in FA next year. You can get a decent guy without breaking the bank. And he's likely to be better than a midrounder anyway. At any rate, decent gamble, but didn't work. Hope Emery decides oft-injured guys are off limits from here on out.

Bears scheduled to have 7 games vs. rookie starting QB or 2nd year QB. Rookies: Luck, Wilson. 2nd year: Gabbert, Newton, Locker, Ponder x2

That's real nice and plays into the Bears having a pretty easy schedule at first glance. But by the time they get to 4 of those games it would mean those guys are at least doing alright/not complete disasters as they don't play Wilson (week 13), Ponder (week 12/14), and Locker (week 9) until the 2nd half of the year.

i'm doubting wilson hangs onto the starting job into week 13, but flynn is rather new, too.

I agree, but if he's the starter in week 13 chances are he's doing okay and the Seahwaks are having a decent year. Or absolutely everything has blown up and they basically are on a QB by committee and it's Wilson's turn to start again and both he and Flynn are sucking.

Just watched the Giants game. If the Bears play like this at all during the season Lovie will be gone.

HERBIE Hancock.

Big surprise. Nuts&Gum trolling for a lol.

Big surprise. You overreacting to something and then making a ridiculous statement.

I'm not familiar with all the O-lineman in the league, but I see that Deuce Lutui got released in Seattle. Would he be an upgrade over Spencer/Raschal?

That's not a ridiculous statement. They played very poorly, and if they play like that in the regular season they will miss the playoffs by a wide mark, which would most likely mean Lovie is gone. Not ridiculous, pretty much spot on.

I'm pretty sure that if they play like that at all, they won't necessarily miss the playoffs.

In fact, they're pretty likely to have a clunker or two.

Might be splitting hairs, but you're no stranger to that.

I think you've gone beyond splitting hairs there.
