Biggs also say that the Bears will probably terminate the contract of McCown.

Played well enough to get a job somewhere, I would think.

Def. That's why we had to go with Blanchard for the practice squad. They'd never be able to keep McCown there.

By rule they can't put McCown on practice squad, right?

What rule is preventing that? Not saying you're wrong, I just don't know.

EDIT: Ah yeah, too much experience....derp.

If Cutler and Campbell both go down the season is obviously over anyway, so whatever with the 3rd QB.

Oh and I think it's safe to say that our draft was a disaster after the first two rounds...

Yep. Real safe to say before a real game has even been played. Especially because later round picks are always instant contributors.

So you've determined that Evan Rodriguez is a disaster? Hardin got hurt...not sure that's a disaster. It's football, and he was going to be depth anyway, not a starter.

Round 6 and 7 got cut. Big whoop.

It's pretty safe to say when your 3rd round pick is on IR, your 4th is a 3rd/4th string TE, you didn't have a 5th rounder, and your 6th and 7th rounders are cut...

Yep. Brandon Hardin will never contribute to this team because he got hurt in a preseason game.

Where do you expect a rookie 4th rounder to be on a depth chart?

Smells like arguing for the sake of arguing, as I recall most people being disappointed with the latter part of this draft.

You said disaster. Not disappointed.

He missed his last college season and his first pro season. It's probably a good idea to never expect anything out of him.

I don't really buy into the idea of injury proneness.

Well the reason they haven't officially announced Clutts being released is that a bunch of teams are interested in trading for him.

I got to draft Matthew Stafford in the 8th and 7th rounds of all my drafts last year thanks to that type of thinking. That was pretty awesome.

It's football. Injuries happen all the time. A lot of times, they'll even happen to the same dude more times than it seems like they should.

Yes the draft has been a disappointment aside from Jeffrey so far looking like a big time contributing player off the bat. Is it early to make a serious judgement? Yes it is, however Emery did say he was looking to draft immediate impact players. Lets not forget that.

We now have 3 players that we can look at to judge this draft since the others were injured/released.

Outside of Jeffrey being a stud, I'm not feeling this draft either. IMO, it's a minor dissapointment when a 6th rounder can't even make a roster the first year. Yeah you're not expecting him to be a probowler, but a depth guy that can contribute. Edited by Theo

#Bears have traded FB Tyler Clutts to #Texans for CB Sherrick McManis per @McClain_on_NFL

So you think everyone's bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, etc. are all pretty much equally structurally sound and equally susceptible to injury?

Yeah, no.

The Bears last 5 years of shitty drafting just compounds this issue and I think outside of signing quality free agents, if we keep on whiffing in the draft we're destined for a rebuilding period. The time is now to start finding quality players that can impact this team be it studs or depth players.

Can you imagine what this team would be like if Angelo just nailed 1 or 2 drafts in the last 5 and found a quality OL or defensive player.

I would also say that it's quite reasonable to say it's a possibility Brandon Hardin will never play football in the NFL again.

I'd say that the effects of those factors are so marginal and impossible to identify that it's not even worth considering. Injuries have more to do with luck than any of that. They've played football their entire lives. Major deficiencies in those areas would've been weeded out long before they made it to where they are.
