well, it was fun trolling lebron lovers for a while. all good things come to an end.

seriously, udonis haslem, though

Yeah, I can actually deal with Lebron, Wade and Bosh getting a title. But the "cling ons" actually bug me a bit more. Shane Battier gets a title? Ugh.

I don't mind Battier. Players who don't contribute much like Howard are another matter. But Battier was a big part of their success this postseason. His great defense on much bigger players in the post was what allowed Miami to go small so often.

As a Lebron and Heat hater, I was certainly rooting of the Thunder. But the Heat certainly deserved it. Can't argue with that.

As for the role players, like Battier, etc. They came up huge. This always happens when teams win though. Guys like Mike Miller, Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers have to come up huge. So can't say I'm happy about it, but it is what it is.

Now l'll just hope they don't win another. Then everyone can get on Lebron for only having 1 ring. Wade is aging. Hopefully the role players start thinking they'd rather get paid than help the Heat win more rings. I think part of the allure of playing in Miami is probably gone.

I still really kind of like LeBron's game a lot. I cannot stand Wade though. He's just so unlikeable.

That's exactly where I'm at.

And I agree with what Brian said yesterday - so many teams I dislike have won championships recently, I just don't get as worked up anymore.

I'm happy for LeBron and Mike Miller. But, I hate pretty much everybody else on their team. Wade, Howard, Battier, and Haslem are all insufferable.

Yeah I've always really liked Mike Miller's game. I think that might have been it for him last night as he is pretty beat up physically. If so, what a way to go.

James' next title(s) is/are inevitable. Just like this one was.

There's no such thing as an inevitability with regards to championships, unless you think the next Mike Miller will hit seven 3-pointers in a game.

Oh man, that Cuban stuff is awesome. He is really hitting on the reasons why the sports media sucks nowadays. It's all groupthink of generalized stories/typecasting of individuals and teams. You can go through so many teams and players and come up with a 1 sentence description of how they are painted in the media.

LeBron James (until the Finals) - Great player amazing talent but doesn't have what it takes to be a winner

Kevin Durant - What is right about the NBA, great player and even greater guy. Will predictably take LeBron's crown as great player who can't win.

Chicago Bulls - 1 superstar and a bunch of role players. Great regular season team but not enough offensive star power to go all the way

San Antonio Spurs - An aging core with a group of unheralded role players molded into a team by the great Popovic

Kobe Bryant - A winner, personification of Michael Jordan

And whenever ESPN brings up these players/teams, its like the same conversation every time. "The Bears are great but they are only going to go as far as Jay Cutler takes them and he's not a winner" "Crazy Rex Grossman does nothing but throw interceptions"

It's not that these generalzations don't have a hint of truth to them but its just the same recycled conversation and there's no original thought involved, no understanding of why this is the prevailing thought, and very few people willing to offer an opposing theory unless their job is to oppose all popular thought (Skip Bayless).

I was much more upset when the Lakers were winning titles than I was last night. I think part of that was due to the fact that it was a foregone conclusion that Miami was going to win the title after Tuesday's game.

I echo the 'Wade is more unlikable than LeBron' sentiment too. It's not really close from my perspective either.

Unless James suffers a debilitating injury, he's going to win another title. This is basketball (and the NBA, at that), not baseball, he's probably the most talented player ever, and he's still only twenty-seven. He's going to win more.

As for Miller, what a pointless strawman argument. His seven 3-pointers last night weren't even necessary for them to win that game, much less the series. But, sure, some role player will step up and help James win in the future (and it's James that opens such opportunities up). That's the way it goes.

I imagine the next Mike Miller will if the opponent has to continually send two guys at James(leaving future Miller 10 feet open) to keep him from scoring every time he has the ball.

Steven A was saying they have no time to do anything other than generalized statements. No tape watching, no in depth analysis. It was interesting how quickly Cuban got that out of him. He went right to it.

Which is ridiculous considering the show he is on. That point might be valid (despite stupid) on some of their shows like PTI or Around the Horn or something, but they spend 2 hours talking about 1 or 2 stories... and they are the same stories every day.

i missed the part where cuban pantses skip. it wasn't a verbal drubbing. cuban was making generalities about making generalities and skip was being skip.

Hell no, [expletive] like that is great.

And everyone isn't hating on Bosh enough. He deserves our scorn for his role on Breaking Bad alone.

The only thing I hate about LeBron is that I think he would have done this in Cleveland and everyone would have been cheering for him. Actually I don't even hate that. I just think it is sad he didn't get one for his hometown.

come on, that sort of thing has nothing to do with why people hate lebron.

and it is AWESOME. paul rudd did it in 40yov and we all correctly noted it as awesome. nothing has changed.

I actually think he could have gone multiple places and people wouldn't have hated him--at least not to this extent. I wish he would have stayed in Cleveland as well, but if he went to the Knicks, Nets, or Bulls, I think people would have been OK with it considering he would have still been the obvious main guy on the team (Rose wasn't an MVP caliber player in people's minds). I think it specifically that Miami created their superteam that people hated him.

And the shirt doesn't make me hate him, I was just joking. Although I wouldn't call it awesome. If he was doing it to be funny, it would be awesome, but I really don't think that was his intention. It sort of reminded me of when everyone hated on AROD, and you want to defend him, but he keeps doing weird things like magazine shoots where he kisses himself in the mirror.
