Damn straight I'll be watching. Even if deep down I know they won't win it all. I thought the same about the Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich Bulls in the playoffs too. And it they somehow someway compete in the ECF, then it will be super sweet.

Most media (most especially B & B - they've collective hard-ons for the Heat) outlets keep blabbing about the Bulls losing to the Heat even with a completely healthy Rose, although we won't see it I'm not so certain it would have been a slam dunk for the Heat. Rip's starting to finally come around, a key for the Heat last season was ignoring everyone else save for Rose, Rip would have blown up that tactic. Imagine if James went down, would the Heat even get past the Knicks?

Think about this. Nobody thought the Bulls had a chance in hell after MJ retired, and Scottie's Bulls came within a questionable call from the finals. Sure, MJ's Bulls were better than the 2012 Bulls, but MJ was a much bigger loss than DRose.

Also they didn't forget to rebound, play defense or lose their front court depth when Rose went down. Moreover, was a 65% Rose that much better than a 100% CJ Watson/JLIII?

Yeah... it really sucks Rose went down, but I am more upset for future implications. It almost didn't seem like it affected this season as much as you would think since he hasn't seemed the same since coming back. He wasn't as explosive and for the most part seemed to have to settle for jumpers. I know he made 3 threes in game 1, but we obviously can't count on that from him every game. Clearly, we aren't better off without him, but he wasn't the same player as last year. I was hoping he would get back to form by the time they played Miami, but I wasn't very confident it would happen.

Well it certainly helps that the 94 Bulls still had a superstar on their team. There's no one that comes close to peak Scottie Pippen on this Bulls team.

Comparing the teams just for fun (w/o Rose and MJ)

Armstrong > Watson

Meyers < Hamilton

Pippen > Deng

Grant > Boozer

Cartwright < Noah

Bench:

Kukoc = Gibson (debatable of course, Kukoc was a scorer but mediocre to poor defender at this point and Gibson is the opposite)

Longley > Asik

Kerr = Korver (at least that season)

Blount = Butler (not enough PT to say Butler is better)

Scott Williams > Scalabrine

Paxson > Lucas

Hard to compare Brewer and James with Wennington and Perdue since they obviously play much different positions.

Why wouldnt you have felt confident? The dude was getting his timing and rhythm back. Every game he played since coming back from that ankle injury he looked better and better. He showed flashes of explosiveness on Saturday that I didnt see in the prior two games. There is no doubt in my mind, barring injury (which obviously occured), he would be been at least 90-95% of last years Rose by the time we played Miami.

Also, Rose makes a huge difference when he's on the court even if he's not doing much. It all comes down to how the opponents defend the Bulls. Rose is the only player on the Bulls that can create his own shot and is the only elite scorer on the team. Because of this, even if Rose is struggling, teams focus a lot of their defensive game plan on Rose and have to gamble a bit on other players like Korver, Rip, Deng etc. It opens up the whole offense to have him on the court.

I was thinking 89.9%.

Think of how awesome KGs column will be in a year. "Barfight, anything is possible!"

There's a perverse part of me that hopes the Bulls amnesty Boozer and sign KG. Just to watch the backtracking. That and I'm afraid we dump all our cash in extending him for far too long (i.e. more than 1 year)

Despite the injury, I'm very excited for tonight's game (It's playoff basketball after all). Very interested in seeing how the Bulls respond to the injury. I have this feeling it will be a blowout, just not sure who will win.

That's disgusting. I can't believe you would actually joke about this. There's no way Rose would wear a suit that costs less than 2 grand let alone less than $300. You've crossed a line that I never thought would be crossed on this forum.
