It's going to be really annoying listening to Brewer Fans adamantly claiming Braun is clean because he didn't get suspended.

It's already begun...just go to brewerscubs.

Its unbelievable how people believe what they want to believe and ignore the facts....aka Penn State fans. How do Brewers fans claim Braun's innocent when he didn't challenge the testing result, but the process instead?

Good for Braun. Sad his reputation almost had to be ruined by terrible reporting by ESPN. Good to know the process does work for innocent people.

Innocent? You mean Not Guilty by a technicality. He didn't challenge the testing result, but the process.

Listening to sports radio today, and they brought up an interesting point: this may not be the first PED suspension that was overturned, it's just the first one that was made public. Braun's failed test wasn't announced by MLB, it was leaked to the media. Braun could have chosen not to respond to the allegations and dismissed them as rumors. Either way, there may have been one or several other failed tests that WEREN'T leaked but were successfully overturned

I'm pretty dumbfounded every time I read a comment in an article by someone who remains anonymous for self-described reasons of not being authorized to speak on a given matter or because something is too sensitive to discuss. I can see the value of someone doing that if it's in an effort to provide transparency or accountability where they feel they they are part of a system which is being unfair, yet they don't have any other options for recourse.

But I can't imagine the leak of this case was motivated by anything other than ZOMG RYAN BRAUN STEROIDS!!! and possibly (almost certainly) some money from whatever news outlet they leaked the story to.

Seems pretty obvious that Braun's people leaked it.

What terrible reporting? Ryan Braun failed a PED test. He was flagged for high levels of testosterone and his B sample tested positive for synthetic testosterone. That has not been disputed even once by Braun's camp.

Hopefully this is not too rude, but what a stupid statement by Carlos Lee.

If anything his reputation will be hurt more by this outcome. The result wasn't overturned. Now instead of getting caught and being punished, he got caught and avoided punishment because of a technicality.

In no meaningful way does this absolve him.

If Brewers fans think this is going to lift the stain from Braun, they're in for a reality check.

Elijah was [expletive] bombed though...

Same Fanbase from Wisconsin who agreed w/ ESPN for calling Cutler a quitter after the NFC title game, now want to call them out for terrible reporting. Sorry fat slobs, can't have your cake and eat it too.

I'll wait for more info to come out before I judge Braun but lets be honest here. The player isn't allowed to challenge the result, if he said my test result is invalid because of x or y they just say too bad. The only way to overturn a test is to attack the process and that is what he did. One way or the other I'm sure more information will come out and then people can make up their minds.

All along I've thought something was weird though because he tested 3 times higher than he should have if he were using a PED so either he has some sort of crazy super PED or something was wrong with the test.

Ryan Braun has passed over 25 tests in his career already. He passed 3 this past year. And suddenly one test comes back and its the highest ever tested by MLB and this doesn't seem odd to anyone? No one has ever said it was a PED issue or any form of steroid. I guarantee he's not the first person to ever win an appeal. If ESPN doesn't report it no one even knows about this. And just because everyone is saying he won the case on a technicality doesn't mean that was the only thing wrong with the test. He was the screaming he was innocent from Day 1, and guess what? He was. Get over it. Move on.

He's guilty in the court of public opinion. At least we get that for justice. Pretty much everyone is counting him guilty that I've seen other than the homers.

The only reason Braun isn't being suspended is because he got off on a procedural technicality, not because the result of the test was invalidated. Now you'll hear people calling him a cheat who got away with it, make no mistake about that. I'm not upset at all, because I don't really care if he used or not and the Cubs aren't going to be relevant this year anyway.

But the rest of the world doesn't feel that way and you guys better grow a really thick skin. Anyone who thinks that this result is going to quiet the critics and everyone will just move on is seriously kidding themselves. Braun is going to wear this thing in the court of popular opinion for a long, long time. He'll hear it in every ballpark the Brewers travel to, and the suspicion will follow him as well.

People are not going to get over it or move on.

If it can be proven that the result cannot be affected due to being stored in a cool basement overnight then this being overturned is BS.

Eh, who cares. Do the 50 games have any bearing on the Cubs this year?

Braun his still going to wear his scarlet letter for years to come. No one outside of Milwaukee's fanbase thinks this means he is innocent. If nothing else, the fact that he got off on a technicality will make people resent him more. People hate that [expletive].

Really? So leaving a urine sample in the fridge overnight rather than shipping it can up the testosterone and cause synthetic testosterone to be detected? I'm sure this can be tested pretty easily scientifically. Let's take a thousand urine samples and stick them in the fridge and see what happens.

The only possible way Braun is innocent is if the someone planted the evidence. Hmm. Reminds me of the OJ trial. You weren't on the jury by chance, were you?

So the outcome of this is that Braun becomes more of a villain, and the steroid testing policy gets shown to be laughingstock? Best case scenario, imo.

Seeing how [expletive] crazy that post is makes me wonder whether this board has any bizarre groupthink denial going on about other things.
