Not surprising, but Crist is leaving ND after he graduates later this month. Kelly granted him permission to talk to other teams. There's speculation about a few teams, including Wisconsin. Be funny if the same team benefits from the 5th year transfer rule two years running.

If there was ever a year for Texas to do this, its this year. Crist could come in right away and start, Ash could spend a year developing and even play some. Conner Brewer could redshirt as he should and Case McCoy could transfer to Noodle Arm University. With solid play at QB Texas is a BCS team next year. This is the 1st year Brown has ever offered a Juco so it could happen but unlikely.

Alabama still #2 in the coaches poll by 37 points. Due to computer ratings, that means OSU needs to be 5 points better than Alabama in the Harris poll to finish second.

Wait, have the updated computer ratings been released?

OSU is 2nd in 4 of 6 computer ratings. They had been prior to this week, though, it's just the human voting that has screwed things up.

So yes, 20 years after everyone decided that depending on human voters was a stupid way to determine #1, they've made it so that human voters have 2/3 of the influence to determine #2. And not just educated voters. A public poll has 33% of the influence.

The Harris Interactive Poll is composed of former players, coaches, administrators, and current and former media who submit votes for the top 25 teams each week.

Let's look at what LSU accomplished.

Georgia makes the 8th ranked opponent LSU has beaten.

No. Just..no. It doesn't invalidate the rest of the argument, but this is just complete nonsense. Just because Mississippi State, Florida, and Auburn were ranked at the time does not make them "Ranked teams" in any meaningful judgment of accomplishment at the end of the season. That is utter absurdity. Stop it.

I agree with this. If it turns out that Miss St, Florida, and Auburn just weren't that good, then they shouldn't be counted as wins over ranked teams.

If I had a Heisman vote it would go:

1. RG3

2. Luck

3. Richardson

No Montee Ball?

I hate all things Bielema and think Ball should be on that list.

Anyone know when the Harris poll comes out?

Coaches poll has Bama narrowly over OK st for 2nd. That might be enough for OSU however given their edge with the computers.

Michigan managed to go 12th with TCU, MSU, Georgia, Houston , Clemson, and Oklahoma all behind them, so that's gotta be good. If the Harris follows suit I'll feel pretty good.

I'm hearing rumors of a possible Iowa vs Oklahoma matchup in the Insight Bowl. I have a hard time seeing us not getting smacked in that match up.

Wasn't Michigan 11th in the Harris poll last week?

Messing around with the BCS stuff, I think the key for OSU will be the Peter Wolfe computer poll.

Even after losing to Iowa State, OSU was second in four computers and third in the other two (Sagarin and Wolfe), while Bama had two seconds and four thirds. Then when Bama beat Auburn, they switched. Bama was second in four and third in two while OSU had two seconds and four thirds. I think it's safe to say that OSU's win over OU was better than Bama's over Auburn so those that switched after the Bama win will go back. That would give OSU 95 in the computers while Bama's at 93. We already have the Coaches poll so we know how many points each got there. Using the 95-93 in the formula gives Bama a slight edge over OSU, meaning OSU would have to finish second in the Harris to go.

However, if the Wolfe ranking jumps OSU to second, that gives them 96 and Bama 92 in the computer ranking. It would have to be slightly closer than the coaches, but then OSU could finish third in the Harris but jump to second in the BCS.

Jerry Palm is projecting that Michigan finishes 12th, and TCU 18th. Also apparently Kansas State was supposed to get an invite to the Cotton Bowl, but now its being reported that the Cotton Bowl is not an option for them anymore. So the speculation is Michigan-Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl. I'll take that matchup. At least its a BCS conference team so it will feel somewhat like a big game, but its definitely a winnable matchup for Michigan.

As alluded to, Alabama has all but made the championship game given the reports, but Palms projections are pretty close. He has Alabama over OSU by 0.009 points. Crazy if it ends up like that.

If it's that close, it either means OSU got the Wolfe computer poll and was a unanimous second there or they basically tied Bama in the Harris.

If it wasn't an SEC team, I bet OK State would have leaped over Alabama. In 2006 they pushed an SEC team over a Big Ten team because they didn't watch a rematch, but this year they apparently want a rematch because its an SEC team playing another SEC team.

It's almost the exact same scenario as 2006. BCS #1 Big Ten team narrowly beats BCS #2 Big Ten team. Michigan finds itself back at #2 and in line to have a rematch going into the last week. Maybe the quality of the teams Michigan beat was worse, who knows.
