at least eustachy was partying with hot coeds. that's way better than just being a lonely drunk.

Rumor has it he may have been visiting the RB that just blew up his knee at the rehab facility he's at. Not sure what to make of that other than it's weird to be hammered and visiting a player in the hospital, if that is in fact the case.

That report said he was near the hospital where Josey was staying, but they were mistaken(there's a medical center near where he was pulled over, but not that one). What seems to be the most likely case is that like he said in his statement, he met some friends for dinner(there's a country club nearby that membership is a perk in coaches' contracts), had too much wine or whatever he was drinking, and stupidly tried to make it home.

If Purdue wins they're bowl eligible for the first time since 2007. [expletive] Iowa. Boiler Up!

Can you explain what Boiler Up means? I know what a Boilermaker is, and that Boiler is a shortening of that mascot's name... but it's it like saying "Man up"?

Joe Tiller's wife came up with it, while Tiller was still head coach there. As a Purdue grad, I hate the phrase and try to refrain from using it as much as possible.

'Man up', is kind of the idea. Joe Tiller's wife 'coined' the phrase as just a cheer to get the crowd going. It turns out, in the days of coal/steam powered trains 'Boilers Up' was shouted when the train was up to full power/steam. So it's kind of just taken on the meaning of rah rah go fight win... and such...

I usually just say it because it irritates the hell out of non-Purdue fans. I can take it or leave it.

What do you think of Anthony Johnson so far? He's going to be a good one. I bet he's the leading scorer next year and makes the All-Freshman team this year. Maybe I'm too high on him... Some of the Illinois posters here were pretty down on him. I think the RS year was exactly what he needed.

Like you said, wrong thread. I'll reply in the b-ball thread.

he should've been suspended for 2 games, since that's how many games he suspended his players for when they got DUIs.

It would've been interesting to see who coached better in the border war, Pinkel's empty visor or Gill.

I was expecting a two game suspension, but you're the first person I've heard say the suspension isn't just.

Some people are thinking that Ebner and Brinkley got two games last year because they were under 21.

Why the [expletive] is Texas 9.5 point favorite over Kansas State?

Because we've beaten you I think 4 straight and people feel that it's time that you finally get a win???? I have no idea honestly, but I love KSU playing as an underdog. We've been doing it all year.

Huh, Boiler Up feels like it's been around so damn long I would've thought it was older.

In any case, Iowa should be a nonissue for Purdue, they still play Indiana. A bowl is all but assured.

Indiana will have zero wins in conference and if Purdue has to beat them to get to a bowl game.... Purdue will find a way to lose. If Purdue can beat Iowa, I think Purdue handles IU with no problem. I really do hope that IU can complete the perfect B1G season though.

Iowa State just tied the game up against Oklahoma State with 5:30 left.

Yikes, that FG by Oklahoma State might have been good.

If it goes over the uprights does it count as being good? I have no idea what that rule is.

I don't see why it would as that would be the equivalent of hitting the upright.

That's what I was thinking but again, no idea.

Weeden should have gone with the shorter route. He was wide open.

So if Oklahoma St, Oregon and Bama all win out, who goes to the title game (assuming LSU wins out also)?
