Wow, that's quite a racist nickname ...

It's just a play on his first name, jeez. And it's not something that sulley made up.

Regardless ... you're calling a black man by the same name as a gorilla. However you try to justify that with humor/cleverness, it's still racist.

Please quit while you're behind.

Not looking forward to the Lions love-fest tonight.

Every MNF game is a 3 hour love-fest, for both teams.

We're not just talking about Gruden though.

I just realized that the Bears are the last team to defeat the Detroit Lions, who have since played 12 games (regular and preseason), emerging victorious in all of them.

Besides being a cool stat, I wonder if it has any merit on tonights game. IIRC Detroit was starting to really be a force in games when he came to Detroit to play them, but the issue was finishing the games. The Lions played the Bears really tough until a late TD gave the Bears a 4-5 point win. Since that point, they suddenly learned how to finish games and have not looked back. Do we matchup well against them in certain areas? We'll find out I guess.

Tirico and Jaws are pretty bad too. And if you're talking about the pre-game on ESPN, you get what you deserve if you watch that garbage.

Have to get to the bye week at least 4-3. While tonight's game is arguably the toughest of the next three matchups, a win makes the season outlook a lot brighter. That said, this team can and should beat both Minnesota and TB.

oh hell we're doomed

Does seem a bit dangerous to only go with 2 active QB's with this offensive line. But, then again, someone has to start the next week.

Some pretty big injuries for the Lions there. Spievey and Durant are starters on that defense. Durant gets replaced by a decent LB in Bobby Carpenter, but those are going to be losses that come into play at some point tonight.

that's their best safety duo.

i'm not going to get on the meriweather-hater bandwagon. i think he's been pretty much what we thought he'd be and he hasn't necessarily been egregiously out of position on any play that i can remember. people say "he needs to wrap up", well, he's going for the vicious hit to jar the ball loose, people know what he does. he's not a great player, but he's been fine. wright is the one who is always out of position, steltz and the other white guy have been bad, but they're just bad football players. busts by angelo.

I suppose its easier to tell Meriwheather "Dont let anyone get behind you" then it would to pull him up to the line and ask him to read the plays of a team he hasnt played, or QB the defense.

I attribute most oh his lack of stellar play to being new to the cover 2.

oh, and for being a B1G dropout.

#Bears GM Jerry Angelo delivers bad news on Earl Bennett who "is probably going to be a few more weeks."

Cut him. Sign TO.

You're out of your mind. He's probably the only good thing we have left in the WR corps.

Meriweather hasn't been out of position, but he hasn't been much better than Wright. He is a better bet at FS though, and Harris is better at SS and FS than Wright, so I'm ok with him not starting. Conte has been fine. Hasn't been on the field much, but he's a rookie that has seen the field in 3 professional games. Steltz is always a day late and a dollar short. Not sure why he's on the roster.

Yeah, I don't understand cutting a cheap player that's actually halfway decent. And for some odd reason, Earl Bennett has gotten the "injury prone" tag. But before he was hit on a play that should have been a 15 yard penalty and $15K fine, he'd only missed 1 game due to injury in his career and that was the meaningless finale vs. the Packers last year. Earl is fine as the 3 or 4 WR, on this or any other team in the league.

Yeah, I would think twice before signing TO even given our horrid WR corps, but in any case it wouldn't be by cutting Bennett. I'm still hoping he can get healthy and contribute later on. The news from Angelo is very disappointing. Our passing game was terrible anyway, but I definitely feel like he is missed. I think Jay misses him, especially for those quick throws over the middle where he can get yards without having to hang himself out to dry for the pass rush, which we can't block.
