I'm on my phone, so sorry if this has been mentioned already. ESPN Stl radio was talking about the Blackhawks possibly dealing Kane to buffalo for Miller. Thoughts?

Miller had one awesome year and an oustanding Olympics. Outside of that he really hasn't been that good. Kane is more valuable.

I honestly think that rumor is complete BS. I was mentioned on a radio show in Toronto or something, and from what I read it was more of a suggestion/speculation kind of thing. Of course the 24/7 media we live with has brought it into the news cycle and suddenly we have to discuss it as if it is on the table.

 

I like Ryan Miller but it just doesn't make sense. Unless we draft one and bring them up, I am not a big fan of trading or really even signing a big name Goalie. It's kind of like giving big money to a closer. Granted goalies are more important than a closer, but you can live with an average goalie just fine if the defense in front of him is good, just like you can live with an average closer if the team can give him bigger leads to work with.

 

Of course the problem is that the Hawks defense is in shambles, but I'd rather not trade someone like Kane for a band aid.

Ryan Miller's resume of one good season won't save this team. Goalies, IMO, are only as good as the defense in front of them. There are exceptions, but Miller isn't one.

Yes, It's a SCH thing, they call them Marlboro 72. For the time being, I like the Leddy/ Seabrook pairing with Keith carrying Olsen until Hammer is back and then Hammer. I wouldn't even mind Keith paired with father time (O'Donnell)

Leddy is having a great game so far. He's getting especially solid in the offensive zone. Just made a great play to keep a hard pass in the zone.

So this would make the road trip 2-6-1. Fairly disastrous but obviously a good end. Still not sure what to think overall.

Sure the big guys are stepping up, but what has really helped over the last few game has been the spark from Mayers, Bickell and Stalberg. Need to get Bolland going and this thing will start to hum.

Crawford stayed in the crease a lot more the last 2 games and looked much better. Granted the BJs suck but he made some good saves when he needed to.

 

A couple more games like this and maybe the mouth breathers will stop trying to trade Kane for spare parts.

Flyers are somehow in the running for Nash also. Haven't examined their cap situation closely but wonder how they could make that work.

I just checked and they are already over the cap...I have no idea how they add anyone without subtracting.
