It's got to be hard for Bowman to look at this roster right now and then look at who is available and pull the trigger. Unless he's going to make a huge move (trading a core player), how do we know how a guy (like Sutton, for example) is going to mesh and how much Q will trust him?

I think Hal Gill is an obvious choice for the Hawks to try to get. I think another one that I do not hear rumored with the Hawks is Tuomo Ruutu. I think he is the type of gritty player the Hawks need on either of the top 2 lines, plus it would free Bolland up to center the 3rd line full time.

I always liked Tuomo. Mostly because of his name. I was sad when he got traded.

I never really liked Ruutu, but I think it's more just because he was around during the dark ages and I hated everything about the Hawks. But then there's this:

Of course doesn't preclude a trade, but seems unlikely.

 

I'm a fan of the idea of a player like Gill. He's a -9 right now, but Montreal sucks so I don't know how much of that can be put on him.

Gill would certainly add to the physicality of our defense, which is sorely lacking right now. I'd love to add somebody like him.
