I can't wait till we get hundreds of millions from TV.

Oh well. I wasn't all that thrilled with Garza to Texas. Toronto has much more to offer us anyway. Let's blow this thing up now, Theo.

my preferred trading partner for garza would be NY

Also kinda worst case scenario for Cubs trying to trade Garza

I'm not sure about that. The Blue Jays could now turn their interest to Garza and some minor league guru types on here prefer the Jays' system to the Rangers' for the purposes of a Garza deal.

meh, assuming he stays healthy, the cubs should be able to get plenty of great offers at the all-star break or before.

So Theo went $51MM for DiceK but wouldn't go to even $52MM for Darvish? Chalk this one up for the Red Sox beat writers knowing more about what is going on than the Cubs writers. Edited by CUBZ99

Yes. The Rangers winning clearly means the Cubs bid was very low and the Cubs have no money.

What if Theo went $50 million? We don't know that he didn't and that would contradict the "low ball" offer Cafardo reported.

Boring argument. Let's discuss whether we should call them Fighters or Ham Fighters, because I definitely prefer Fighting a bunch of Hams, thus Ham Fighters.

Agreed.

And in other news, the Bay Packers finally lost a game.

Don't understand the defensiveness. All we know is that Dice K went for $51MM and that Darvish, by almost every scouts was considered a superior pitcher. Most people were assuming that the bid would be higher, and apparently Theo bid less than $52MM. Not a very impressive effort.
