The top of that draft has already had some notable injuries:

1. Correa

2. Buxton

5. Zimmer

6. Almora

7. Fried

8. Appel never signed

11. Russell

16. Giolito (though everyone knew he needed TJS going into the draft)

Charles Bartlett (Shelburne,Vermont): In the article it stated that Kolek sat 91-94 during his stint in the GCL. Is that a concern for him going forward considering he was said to be regularly hitting the upper 90's? And where would you put his ceiling at right now?

Ben Badler: Yes, it’s definitely a red flag. He made all his starts and I haven’t heard of any injury diagnosis with him, but when a guy shows up and is missing two grades of velocity off his fastball, that’s very troubling, and I do have concerns the frequency with with pitchers with similar arm action, at least anecdotally, seem to be getting hurt. It could just be that he’s run down and that he shows up next spring back to firing upper-90s fastballs, but this is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Pitching prospects are just way too scary.

Holy [expletive], Nix got 1.5M as a settlement from the Astros.

ETA: Per Gammons

I wonder if that's going to to against their draft money. In which case, they'll lose their first rounder this year.

I really doubt it.

if that's true, that's a pretty sweet deal for nix. he gets the amount of money he was originally supposed to get from the astros, then can go back into the draft (presumably) and get another big signing bonus.

Profar is having surgery to repair a torn labrum, looks like he might miss a 2nd full year due to shoulder problems.

I've had that done and it sucks a lot. May not be a SS after having this done.

That's a HUGE understatement.

jonathan singleton had 10 rbi's in yesterday's game for fresno, hitting his second grand slam in 2 days. in his last 3 games he has 18 rbi. that's a pretty good month for a lot of players.

lol, wow. Nick Gordon has a sub .600 OPS as well.

Yeah, let's just take Andrew Benintendi and call it a day.

remember last year when a lot of prospect people said that schwarber "should be doing this" in A-ball because he's a college player? well, now he's a 22 year old who's comprehensively destroying AA pitching.

While Keith Law's beloved Michael Conforto sits in A+ with an .809OPS.

And people are no longer saying he "should be doing this"

Or, compare Gordon to Gleyber Torres, who is a year younger.
