Pretty sure around the draft it was pretty widely accepted that he would be a fast mover in whatever organization drafted him. I think there were even people who said he could possibly play in the bigs this year.

Yeah, that was the article I was referring to.

 

It's totally understandable to force Bundy to scrap the cutter for a while to improve his other pitches (though you do risk him losing his feel for his cutter). Totally another to completely take it away from him.

Of course. I have zero issues with them having Bundy work on his other pitches in the minors, but to completely scrap his best pitch forever is completely ridiculous. Especially given the moronic excuses they use for disliking the cutter.

Based on the O's production of pitchers, I feel that's a pretty safe bet that he never approaches his ceiling. Outside of a couple year stretch with Bedard, have they even had a good pitcher since Mussina?
