Jacque Jones?

Yessir. It was he and Neifi teaming up for that particular defensive gem. Against Atlanta, if I'm not mistaken.

Yep. As I recall, Neifi simply didn't consider the possibility that the second Brave might go for home so he didn't throw the ball till it was way too late.

just watched the replay of the play that tied the game (at 3-3) for the reds. jeff brantley is such a moron... he said that fukudome threw the ball home from the outfield when in reality it was garza throwing it away from first base. how do you [expletive] up that badly? (besides being a dumb hick who is completely unqualified to serve as a color commentator for a major league baseball team)

They are just awful, both he and Brennaman. I had to watch last night's debacle on their network, which really sucked. Both of them are homers who make routine factual errors.

i'd honestly be insulted to have to listen to those two every game. i'm okay with some homerism but at least have someone in the booth who knows what the hell is going on.

This is more the Cubs being a terrible defensive team than it is the Reds, right? I mean, Votto notwithstanding, the likes of Chris Heisey, Fred Lewis, Paul Janish, Ryan Hanigan and whatever else aren't actually this good, are they?

on the plus side the cubs are making strong headway in the fecal league standings.

Anyone to watch out for in the 2012 draft? The Astros and Twins will likely be hard to beat, but I think this Cubs team has a special kind of awful and might be able to pull it out.

Cubs should probably watch some game tape of the Reds to learn how your supposed to play baseball.

Wait for another team to make horrific errors?

1) So does Quade kill a player or reporter tonight after the game?

2) Is Sandberg now praying nightly in thanks that he didnt get the job?

Edited: Pain medicine is good :)

I've been waiting for this Boston series for at least 6 years, and now that its hear I doubt I'll watch more than an inning or two. This team just has nothing going for it.

No, this Reds win has been a Cubs production.

Yeah, that wont be a pretty series. Not at all.

People scoffed at Ricketts when he sent the letter saying the team would be better fundamentally. The enlightened baseball minds don't like to hear things like that or playing the game the right way, but this team is proof there is still merit in those things.

Let's not pretend the Red Sox have been world-beaters so far.

Brenly sounds like he has to hold himself back from calling this team a pile of [expletive] in so many words.

Eh, it may be all right, given the pitching scene in Boston. I had been looking forward to facing Lackey, though.

Be careful they will come for you with torches and pitchforks next.

No reason why Quade should be the manager of this team tomorrow morning.

If only things went the way they should....

Whats the point? Its not like someones going to come in and make this team good. I agree that Quade shouldnt be managing this team next year, but unless they have someone in mind that they really feel can be more than an interim, may as well let him sink with the rest of the ship. MY vote is still for Bobby V.
