MLB Network reporting Aroldis Chapman has been placed on the 15-day DL with a shoulder injury. Righty Jordan Smith has been called up to replace him.

dusty did give him 5 batters in the 9th inning yesterday - 23 pitches, 5 strikes, 4 walks, a deep fly out to CF by tyler greene.

Hill again and Pena inexplicably batting 8th? Fan-[expletive]-tastic.

Hopefully Aramis kicks it in gear after coming back from his trip home.

I am watching the Cubs game on the computer and Cardinals game on TV. Since when has Albert played 3B with Berkman at 1B? I know they have had injuries there and poor performances. But I haven't seen him there since he first was coming up.

Why does Moreland call him Carlos PEEEN-ya

Because Moreland can't pronounce names correctly. During the first series against the Diamondbacks, he kept calling Willie Bloomquist Willie Boomkiss.

They did it in an emergency a few weeks ago, and apparently tonight La Russa wanted Allen Craig (corner guy, in right field tonight) in the lineup without having to stick him at second base, his worst position. Ran it by Albert and they went with it.

Castro is actually on pace to walk less than he did last year, so that walk today was a good sign

For just about any outfielder, that's a play that's possible to make, but I don't think anyone thought Fonzie had a chance in hell of getting to that ball.
