St. Louis comes back from a 5 run deficit to tie the game and the Wild Card race on the same night the Steve Bartman documentary airs? Coincidence?

Yes.

And Nick Punto follows with an RBI double. I mean, I know counting on freaking Houston to keep STL out of the playoffs is a fool's errand, but Theriot and Punto? Really?

Aaron Miles and Jamey Carroll think those 2 on the same team is hilarious.

BTW, in case anyone was wondering, I believe home field for tiebreaker games is now settled by record against the 2 teams. If that is in fact the case, Red Sox-Rays would be in Tampa, and Cardinals-Braves would be in St. Louis

some guy named allen craig, who has an ops near .900, just homered for stl. 12-6 now.

i'd guess the phillies will be playing a lineup of complete bums tomorrow against atlanta, to rest up for the playoffs. the astros will field a lineup of bums because they have no good players.

Jarrod Parker made his first ML start tonight for the Diamondbacks. 5 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 0 R, 4 H, 1 BB, 1 K. I watched some of the game, he looked pretty solid.

After the massive disappointment that was the ending to last season's NL wild card race (seriously, 3/4 chance of at least one game 163 and we get none) I really hope we get at least one game 163.

in the AL i'd be fine with one. in the NL, i hope the braves win and the cards lose 35-0. and then tony larussa steps on a land mine.

Exactly. Unless that all happens in Game 163.

Dodgers and Diamondbacks go to the 10th tied 1-1.

Dodgers put five on the board in the top of the inning and take a 6-1 lead.

Diamondbacks, with two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the inning, get a single, a single and a walk to load the bases, score a run on an error by some guy named Aaron Miles (6-2), get another run on a bases-loaded walk (6-3) and then win 7-6 on a grand slam. By Ryan Roberts. Do you know who Ryan Roberts is? I do, but only barely.

BTW that was pathetic announcing.

"Are you watching, Milwaukee?! Did you just see that?!"

Yeah, bet they're real worried about Ryan Roberts and some of the other names that appear to receive regular playing time for the D'backs.

I didn't realize that the Cardinals had wrapped up the wild-card already. Either that or the DBacks announcers just don't konw the rules.

That is one weak offense. 2 regulars with an OPS over .800.

Honestly, when is the last time 5 runs were scored by the away team in extras, and 6 by the home team to walk off?

That first single Arizona got with 2 outs actually should have been a 3-1 groundout to end the game but Blake Hawksworth forgot to cover first base.

I had the game on as background noise as I was getting ready for bed. What a hilarious end (I might still harbor ill feelings towards the Dodgers since their fans were dicks to me at Game 3 in 2008).

Also, thankfully I got Vin Scully instead of the crappy AZ broadcast.
