you miss that many gimme's, you lose. pretty simple.

just as annoying is playing good defense for 23 seconds and then LeBron canning a contested 20 footer over and over and over again

Deng destroyed the bulls on offense. Bad shooting and a ton of turnovers under the basket

Deng was not the problem on offense.

He was one of them. Everyone shot like garbage tonight, Deng included.

Agreed.

Which is why I'm not worked up over this. I'm let down, sure, but the Bulls still held the Heat to a very beatable 85. Just try not to shoot a brutal .341 again, boys.

I'll be very surprised if the Bulls don't return the favor and take one of the games in Miami.

I do feel pretty confident that we will take 1 in Miami. The goal at this point should be to win 1 of the 2. Doesn't matter which one, but I think Game 3 is our better chance.

That's my thought, we are still playing pretty good defense and teams just don't shoot 34% all too often. As long as they keep playing strong D, which I think they will, they will be fine.

he missed a bunch of wide open shots and had a ton of turnovers under the basket. That's crippling.

Rose doesn't play one of his worst 5 games of the season, we win. Bulls don't turn over 8 or so layups (how is that even possible?) under the basket, they win. Terrible loss

You mean worst 5 games of the postseason?

I still think the bulls will sweep

Let's just say hypothetically the Heat, Hawks, and Pacers are ordered to forfeit their wins vs. the Bulls due to ineligble players, is this the best Bulls team of all time?

Imagine how many he'd hit if he was the leader of his team.

This is probably my fault for reading columnists, but my goodness, you'd think the Bulls had just been swept by reading this.

what the hell is that guy talking about? bizarre article.

For most of his basketball life, Pat Riley had watched the game’s greatest talent destroy him in the final minutes of Eastern Conference playoff games. It was Michael Jordan who obliterated his championship chases with the New York Knicks. Now, these somber, silenced Bulls fans were pushing past the emperor of the Miami Heat in Section 120 of the United Center, trudging to the exits. LeBron James(notes) had gone pure M.J. in the final, furious minutes and one of those shiny championship rings of Riley’s sparkled as he clapped in the gathering silence on Wednesday night.

This was something straight out of Jordan’s postseason playbook for LeBron.

This was clutch, winning basketball out of James. As closers go, this was pure Jordan, pure heartbreak.

Greatness had risen in the fourth quarter and made the game his own in every possible way. Once, it was M.J. Now, it was LeBron James, Riley’s revenge.

all this for a game 2 win and a 29/10 performance?

who's the executive that said this?

Riley and Forman shared 11 first-place votes, but three former NBA executives of the year say they voted for Riley. As one says, “It should’ve been unanimous. I’m not close with Pat, but I’m embarrassed how that went.”

that person should be kicked in the throat. riley recruited two all stars to play there and then sat back and watched them win a bunch of games. what a genius.

if he was the leader he'd just quit on the team in Game 6

Its a silly award anyways. Are we awarding it for one great offseason? Building a team is a long process that involves years of planning in advance. If we were going to give it for just moves within a calendar year, it arguably could have been Walsh to get it. I mean for Gar to get it kind of means you are rewarding him for taking Rose 3 years ago, not to mention the salary planning he did for 2010 the past two years. Same for Riley.

Well, he is the best player in the game for a reason.

In my mind you're awarding him for bringing in Thibs, bringing over Omer, forming the bench mob, and of course stealing Scals from Boston

James and Bosh > Those moves, save for Thibs

Yea, you can try and discredit Riley by saying he lucked into it and it was the players who planned, but he put it together, luck or not.

You can say the Bulls had better improvement in their results, but thats ignoring the huge leap Rose took.

I mean its close, I don't know who I'd vote for if I had the opportunity. I may even vote for Walsh, as I said. Just seems odd to have a one season award for an executive, I don't know.

He also gave all that money to Joel Anthony and Mike Miller. Great job, Pat!

Time to see how Thibodeau adjusts now.

I think he was trying to get Korver going. I wouldn't be surprised to see Korver's minutes severely depleted the rest of this series. Korver can't guard and has no purpose if he isn't knocking down shots. Same thing happened vs. Indiana and Atlanta. Bulls didn't have a problem when Thibs stopped trying to get someone to help Rose score and started getting people in there that were getting stops.

Not that you are going to stop LeBron and Wade completely, but not allowing them to abuse Korver and Rose would make their shots more difficult.

It's funny to follow the trends of the media and fans. After game 1, everyone thought it was all over for Miami. Now, everything is all over for Chicago.

I was definitely excited after game 1. But IMO, game 2 was more important for Miami than Chicago. The Bulls have already shown they can beat and even dominate Miami. If they went up 2-0, I was thinking the series would go 5, maybe even 4.

Now Miami showed it can beat us. But it's not like we didn't know that. But please. The defense was good, but the Bulls missed shots they should make. Poorly defended shots were not dropping. And Miami hasn't shown it can consistently score on us unless they are on the fast break. Their half court offense has been horrible for both games.

If Miami is so giddy that they beat a team that shot like 35%, then let them be giddy. And if the Bulls continue to shoot that way, they'll lose. But I'm not giving all the credit to Miami's defense. Like I said, I'm still calling a Bulls victory. Unless Miami shows us something it hasn't yet, I think the Bulls will win.
