So I turned the channel for the final minute. How seriously is Rose hurt?

He definitely re-aggravated the same ankle that he hurt against Indiana. It didn't look too good.

Our Coach of the Year needs to figure out how to make this team give a [expletive] in the first quarter.

And the fourth. We were outscored by ten points in the 1st and seven in the 4th.

but in the Indy series, the Bulls came back in the 4th to overcome the slow start. It's the bad first quarter that has been consistent in the playoffs so far. I don't understand how a team can come out so flat game after game in the playoffs. To me, that's entirely on the coaching staff.

It looked horrific. Definite high ankle sprain

Good luck to Joe Johnson ever hitting that many contested jumpers in a game again. Bulls had better come alive for Game 2.

I'm not sure how this works, can you guys still sweep easily?

It's not like losing the Rose from the postseason is going to hurt them any.

So annoying. Go worry about your own playoff chokers.

Good point, Watson can chuck 25 shots up a game at 37 percent.

Maybe it was my TV, but not quite the loud cheering I was expecting.

EDIT: derp

The anthem was pretty pathetic compared to a Hawks normal anthem. It wasn't that loud at all inside the stadium. The Bulls really need to stop showing up in the 2nd quarter. It's getting [expletive] old.

Just watched the game on DVR.

If Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford are going to shoot like that, there's not much you can do. I'm not worried yet.

Yeah just like Danny Granger and Tyler Hansbrough.

We just lost the first game at home and none of these supposed matchup advantages were evident. And Rose's ankle continues to be a recurring theme.

Am I freaking out? No. But worried......yes, of course I'm worried.

But I'll be perfectly honest: any time I hear Chicago media talking heads spouting off about how easy it's going to be for one of our teams to win, I become very afraid. Because they are almost always completely and totally wrong.

The first six minutes of that game were completely pathetic. That can't be emphasized enough. Look at some of the offensive "sets" we were running. There was no emotion and no life from anybody on the team.

We may have won 60+ games in the regular season, but this team isn't good enough to just think it can coast to a playoff win. The Pacers series should've been a wake-up call, but I guess we decided to forget about that series during the long layoff.

I still think we'll win the series without getting to a Game 7, but there were definitely some uncomfortable things to take away from last night's game.

Yeah, that's what I mean.

It's not like I think we suddenly can't win the series. But when I see the team come out like that, get behind due to lackluster play (2nd round of the playoffs and you're sleepwalking out of the locker room........really?), and then have to try to storm back later on at home, no less.

It's concerning. I'm not saying the Hawks aren't a good team. I believe they are. And I never bought all this crap that the Bulls have all the advantages, blah blah blah.

But there's an element where I wonder when this team is going to wake up and start playing up to their own potential. Other than the final game of the Indiana series, I feel like they've been playing lazy and uninspired basketball the whole time.

Why, I can't say. They've done nothing. Proven nothing. They're acting like they've got 2 championships under their belt and can flip the switch any time they want. The reality is, we don't even know if they have a switch that can flipped at all.

The Bulls had their issues, but the biggest issues were the ridiculous shots that the Hawks were somehow making. It was game 1 of the Pacers series all over again, without Rose turning it on at the end.

No, let's look at it like Soul instead; with irrational fear.

I don't know, Banedon. I was watching Hawk player taking passes into the open court, shooting without the slightest challenge.

Of course they are going to make those.

I don't think it's just that they got lucky. The Bulls are allowing that luck to happen, to a certain degree.

No you're right, irrational homerism would be a much more balanced approach.

It would be, since the Bulls are a much better team.

If you honestly think the Hawks can and will win like this 3 more times, hey, have fun with that. It's ridiculous.

Joe Johnson was hitting fadeaway contested 3's. Jamal Crawford was hitting them falling off to the side. There was a lot of ridiculous shots that shouldn't have gone in. Again, there was a lot the Bulls could've done better, and I'm not absolving them. But the Hawks better not count on a full series of making those shots. There was a ton of low percentage makes.

Pay attention there, mister multi-task.
