i was just about to post this. i hope that nelson kid doesn't get drafted and has to live in modesto forever. and howland is one weird [expletive]. i can't imagine that he'll be there much longer, that program needs an identity facelift.

 

I'd really rather not compete with UCLA for a coach.

 

The ideal time to compete with a coach is if UCLA is in a scandal situation. They'll hire a Karl Dorrell-type who is clean, winning be damned.

 

That said, I don't expect Howland to go anywhere.

 

The amazing thing in all this is that Guerrero still has a job.

You also said Iowa State might have their best team ever next year and Korie Lucious is a true PG, so he may be right.

 

Regarding Iowa, his whole point was if they won out and got one in the Big Ten Tournament, they could definitely steal a bid. At 19-14, 10-8 in the best conference in the country and with 4 top 25 wins he was probably right.

Yeah but is there any way to predict who can recruit Chicago well? Besides Cal and Wes?

 

I know it's the convenient way for Illinois to get top kids but with the program they have, get the guy who can actually coach and run a program the right way. They can get players from lots of places.
