wisconsin people are smelly, poor, and ugly. and i know that from personal experience. indiana fans are white and lame and they like cheating. purdue fans are a pathetic spinoff of indiana fans and they like chuckers, northwestern fans are non-existent and nobody cares. michigan folks, well, see: east coast wisconsin, but dirtier and poorer. east lansing is worse than ann arbor. iowa's cool, minnesota's cool, and there's absolutely positively nothing wrong with anyone associated with penn state ever.

White and lame describes the fans of every team in the Big Ten. Hell, it's pretty much every fan of every school in the nation.

Everything else you said was lame... and white...

you certainly have an original idea there. thanks for your input.

Um, so according to Scout Weber is owed 3.9 million dollars within 60 days of his firing. Good lord Ron Guenther was a terrible AD. How do you write that contract?

that's paul hewitt-bad

It ain't Turner Gill bad, though.

So does Bruce get that $4 million even if he accepts another head coaching job elsewhere?

ig said he gets it within 60 days

Update on The Score just said that alumni/donors have made it clear to the AD that the buyout should not be a factor in his decision to fire or not fire Weber.

It's just too bad that his hands are going to be tied by the BOT in the hiring process.

It won't be. The donors are gonna cover the buyout.

He was talking about the BOT wanting a minority coach. Considering 2 of the best candidates are minorities, it shouldn't matter.

If media outlets are letting it be know a buyout has been secured, how can Weber possibly coach the rest of the year?

Thomas said all along it will be handled at the end of the year, but I guess that pressed after the game pissed a lot of people off and sped up the process possibly.

I wonder how soft Meyers will be when he's in the league next year? Oh well I'm sure in another year hard ass DJ Byrd will join him, lol.

My apologies, yeah and if they both say no MT will hire who he seems best. I hope.

As long as the money is right, there shouldn't be an issue hiring one of them. This isn't the Illinois teams of the 70s that Lou took over, there's a bunch of talent on the team. Shaka is my #1 choice. Good coach, young, African-American, and has led a team to the Final Four.

I'd prefer he keep both McClain and Howard too.

I want either

Smart

Grant

Marshall

no, it will actually help. it's about time we hired a black coach, anyway.

I'm sure there's somebody else out there I'm forgetting, but yeah those 3 would be fine.

I'd still take Stevens, but the only real chance there is that this year was a wakeup call that Butler can't stay good forever and he decides to strike while the iron's hot. Still think he stays though.

"Either" is used between 2 choices, not 3

And there's your english lesson of the day.

From what I've read, next year is going to be one of Stevens' most talented teams. They bring everyone back but Nored (who can't really play offense), add Rotnei Clarke and a top 150 guy with a solid class for their level overall. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Of the guys that would make at least some sense to move to Illinois, I'd look at Grant, Kevin Stallings, Buzz Williams, Randy Bennett, Gregg Marshall. I think all would be safer than Smart with the exception of Bennett.

Does Mike Thomas have any history with Alford? He should hire him.

Really though I have to think he's in line for a decent high-major job somewhere. His overall resume is really pretty good and he's improved a lot as a coach since his first 4-5 years at Iowa.

They should be much better next year. Hopkins will be back, Smeathers, imo, is underrated, and Kellen Dunham is very, very good. I'm not saying he'll never leave, but he has a whole lot of reasons to stay.

This isn't meant as an insult, I believe Illinois will hire a very good, well sought after coach. But Brad Stevens is exceedingly unlikely to happen.

i think they could get him if they wanted him, but he'd be expensive. i don't want stevens anyway, he'd be a bigger failure than weber.
