Yeah, the ump even made a point of saying he was out at the plate when Sori looked at him.

Calm down people.

Pena is trying to bunt? I know the shift is on, but really?

I don't mind if he shows it, but that sequence of events was kind of strange. The guy isn't exactly great at it.

He was actually pretty successful doing that for TB since defenses started to shift against him.

Really? Hm. It didn't seem that way from his AB, but I'll take your word for it.

Guys, first base was occupied. Soriano couldn't run there.

Never heard of that rule before. Good to know. :good:

According to Bob, if the runner was on the move, the base is considering unoccupied and Soriano could have run. However, if the runner was holding at 1B, the base is occupied.

Yeah, I'll find the stat for you. I read it in The Extra 2% by Jonah Keri. I just looked to see if it had an index so I could reference it but it does not. It's in there though.

Yeah, not a fan of letting Reed Johnson face a righty. Even if you don't want to burn Fukudome (hoping he gets a shot in the 8th or 9th), you have to use DeWitt there. Otherwise, why is he on the bench?

I just explained this rule to my boss. He is at the game and sent me a text screaming about Soriano, lol.
