Notable Cubs free agents after this season:

Carlos Pena

Kosuke Fukudome

John Grabow

Kerry Wood

Options for 2012:

Aramis Ramirez

Jeff Samardzija

Signed through 2012:

Ryan Dempster

Marlon Byrd

Sean Marshall

Am I missing anyone?

I find it hilarious that I'm not the only Cub fan thinking about 2012 after 13 1/2 innings of 2011.

How is Carlos Pena's fielding compared to Derrek Lee's?

Pretty slick so far. Haven't seen him much in the way of ranging to his right and diving (both of which Lee did very well), but his glove work is excellent.

I'm thinking of the trade deadline...but yeah.

Nice hit, Geo. No DP please.

'Afternoon everybody

Are there no Pirates forums on the web?

Honestly just curious

There are, indeed.

Second question... why are your announcers so dull?

The team is. They fit the profile.

According to Gameday, McCutchen climbed into the bleachers and went back a couple rows to catch that ball.

Pena, Kouske, and Grabow are gone. Wood possibly, depending on this year. Shark's option won't be picked up and Rammy will probably hit FA.

If we don't get AP, Pena is back IMO.

That is a pretty big assumption considering we have no clue what kind of performance Pena will deliver this season. If we don't get Pujols, there is still Prince. The other intriguing situation is either Kila or Billy in Royal Land.

Why does it feel like Z is pitching worse than Dempster did yesterday?

Because the Cubs are incompetent at the plate, so anything short of a perfect game from Zambrano won't be good enough.

Perhaps because Dempster looked great through 4 and Z, while pitching a good game, hasn't really looked all that great.
