Biggs says that if they are able to move Olsen, then the Bears might get in on a WR. Apparently the Bears have made contact regarding Malcolm Floyd, but he said that doesn't mean that money has been discussed. Also mentions Roy Williams and Braylon Edwards.

Can they really afford to be cheap considering they were supposedly 37 mil under the cap and have to get to 99% of the cap to reach the cap floor?

Unless they are planning some extensions to existing players, I can't see them getting there with ease unless they are planning on overpaying some of the mediocre targets theyve shown interest in.

Forte is definitely gonna get some money. But outside of that, I think they're just playing it slow. Once players can really sign tomorrow, I bet the Bears start getting some guys in here.

Rotoworld:

A source close to Greg Olsen tells NBC Sports Chicago the tight end is "not happy at all" with the recent trade talk and wants to play his entire career in Chicago.

If Olsen is truly unhappy, he needs to sit down with his agent who is spreading the news of a potential trade. The Bears aren't going to meet his contract demands, so a trade looks like the best scenario for both sides.

Does anyone else get the impression that the Bears think they can just run scrubs out there at the skill positions as long as they have a good QB and line? Wouldn't be surprised if they refuse to give Forte his money next year.

Would at least be an improvement on their previous philosphy that they don't even need the line just the QB.

They can't really "be cheap" though. They have the spend the $$$.

If they actually had a good o-line, it might work.

@michaellombardi: Chicago Bears signed tight end Matt Spaeth from the Steelers..

I heard that Todd Heap guy is a FA.

Not yet. Can't officially cut him yet. He's most likely gonna re-sign with the Ravens once they can officially cut him.

I would argue that Kruetz has been getting by on reputation for acouple of years, but do we really want to let him walk when we are turning over at least two other positions on the OL, and possibly three?

We still have Davis, right? So now the TE's are Spaeth, Davis and Olsen?

Yep. I don't know a ton about him, but Looks like maybe Spaeth is more of a blocking TE for 2 TE sets?

And Manumaleuna. You can probably cross Olsen off the list now.

The Vikings have reportedly entered the mix for free agent LT Jermon Bushrod.

The Vikes wouldn't carry two left tackles, so perhaps they're looking to upgrade on Bryant McKinnie. Bushrod has that potential, but he's been highly inconsistent in New Orleans. The Bears and Saints are also in on Bushrod.
