So they'll have the exact same offensive gameplan? Cuz that seems like a bad idea, since the Bears have certainly watched film of that game.

Pete Carroll on Devin Hester:

“We’ve got to kick the ball to him,” Carroll said on ESPN 1000. “There’s nothing we can do about it. We’d like to not [punt], though. That would help us.”

“You have to be very disciplined about the way you play him,” Carroll said. “He’s just too good. And he’s so explosive. So we’re going to do a great job, I hope, of covering and placing the ball where we want to and doing all the things that you need to do so we can maximize our chance of slowing him down.”

I wouldn't believe a word Carroll says...

Or Lovie, for that matter.

Maybe he's telling the truth, maybe he's blowing smoke. There's no way to know, so I ignore pre-game comments on how a team is going to do something.

I keep wanting to read about and discuss this game but then when I pull up some articles, I can't read them. I just get a headache because I've been reading too much about it and just want it to be Sunday. The storylines are all set and have been discussed ad nauseum all week. Heck, I am going to Florida tomorrow and I'm thing I'm most looking forward to then is watching the game inside at the condo we're staying at.

This accurately summarizes my feelings.

Aaand another reason to hate Rick Reilly:

If he's not The Most Hated Man in the NFL

Is anyone even close to Vick in that category?

People actually like Vick, as witnessed by him getting the most Pro Bowl votes of all QBs other than Tom Brady.

People voting him into the Pro Bowl doesn't mean they "like" him. Jeepers, he beat Tiger Woods as the most hated man in all of sports somewhere not that long ago.

Probably a bunch of old white men voting.

It's actually not a terrible column. It's more or less fair, rehashing a lot of stuff we've all seen, but fair. He doesn't care what people think of him and I don't care that he doesn't care. I don't know why any fan would. I can see it frustrating the press who just live for pretending they can get you the inside story and really show you who a guy is. He's the best offensive player this team has had since Walter Payton left and that's all that really matters. Peyton Manning is a media/advertising whore and people hate him for that. Tom Brady is Mr. Cool and people hate him for that. Philip Rivers is a demonstrative bitch and people hate him for that. Brett Favre is Brett Favre and people hate him for that. There's no reason to try and force a Mr. Nice Guy personality.

I take that back, Tiger tied Jerry Jones for 4th. Al Davis and Roethlisberger came in at 2 & 3.

Yeah, Cutler may be the most hated by the media who judge guys strictly on how they interact with them. But he's more of a secondary character in the long list of NFL players that people hate.

What exactly did Rivers do anyway? I missed that whole drama for some reason.

Of course the media is going to hate a guy who prefers keeping to himself and out of the spotlight. I don't blame him one damn bit though. It's not easy being a celebrity and he obviously has his own way of handling it.

Why are people so obsessed with eye contact anyway? Just because he looks elsewhere during a conversation doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't give a damn. Some people are simply weirded out by eye contact, especially by people they don't know.
