We're going to be playing GB in the WC round. I don't see anyway we beat GB in Lambeau next week, meaning we can only avoid GB if Philly loses one of their two games or if the Saints lose both of their remaining games. Neither of those will happen.

The only thing that is making me feel better is that GB will most likely have to beat us twice to advance to the divisonal round, and that is tough for any team to do.

But they will because that stuff happens to Sulley's teams.

wtf? why?

Saying I don't see anyway we win was going a bit overboard, but I still don't see it happening. Even though we'll most likely be playing for a bye, the Packers are at home and will be much more desperate for a win.

I will say this though...I do think things are clicking more (at least offensively) now than they were in Week 3 when we beat them.

1) We could beat the Packers if we have something to play for.

2) Philly could easily lose to Dallas coming off a short week and with the Cowboys having extra rest

3) New Orleans could conceivably lose to Atlanta (likely) and Tampa (remote, not impossible)

#2 seemed a lot more likely before Kitna went down. Some guy named Stephen McGee will not lead Dallas to a road win in Philly, although I'll admit he didn't look too bad last night.

Just like Matt Flynn wouldn't have a prayer in Gilette or Drew Stanton was doomed against the Bears.

Or Webb...oh wait, nevermind on that one.

Yeah it can happen. Just trying to say at this point the most likely scenario looks to be Bears-Packers two weeks in a row.

I'd rather not play the Packers in the playoffs, if only because if we lose it would suck even worse.

This will all be moot when the Pack are blindsided by The Todd Collins Experience

I don't see Cutler sitting out. Lovie takes pride in beating Green Bay and isn't going to roll over.

We're going to surrender mode if the Bears have the 2 seed locked up.

As for avoiding GB, I think the Saints losing their final two games is more likely than Philly losing one of it's games, considering the opponents. The nice thing about next week is that all the relevant games are at noon, which means TB won't be eliminated before their game with the Saints.

Ideally the Packers and Giants both lose while TB wins, giving NO and TB the WC spots and the Bears a 1st-round bye.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree, especially with Philadelphia having something to play for. Dallas having an extra day rest while Philadelphia is two days short is not normal circumstances.

Is the game at 12? I wish it was 3 because GB could conceivably clinch a spot before stepping on the field with a Giants and Bucs loss.

You guys are really THAT scared of the Packers? :P

I think we can beat them, I would just rather not deal with all the media hoopla and fans trash-talking all week.

You would've wanted to deal with it if we win.

It doesn't really have anything to do with the outcome of the game. I just don't feel like watching ESPN inevitably make a big deal about the rivalry and in the process have fans go at each other all week. Just seems easier to get the bye and then have an ordinary playoff game against the Eagles the following week.

Unless you are watching ESPN all the time I can't really understand caring about "media hoopla" but to each his own I suppose.

Did you forget 2006 that soon? With the number one seed wrapped up the Bears played Grossman all of like 3 series and then gave the keys to Griese I think.

Yeah and right now the Bears don't have their seeding wrapped up. They still have the #2 seed and a bye week to play for. You honestly think Lovie won't play for that? :-k

I'm pretty sure SW was pointing to the Eagles losing Tuesday night, which would seal the #2 seed for the Bears and might prompt them to start Collins. If the Falcons lose tomorrow though we'll technically still be alive for the #1 seed, even though there's no way they lose to Carolina. I think Cutler starts regardless.

No of course he will. I'm just saying when the Bears have nothing to play for they have, on two occasions, sat starters.

And its possible, though unlikely, we'll have clinched the #2 seed by next week.
