Favre is inactive for tonight's game.

ITS OVER!!!!! The first week without Favre in 18 years. Now that the streak is over, it becomes much easier to sit him in other games. I wonder how many games Favre would have missed over the last 3 years if there was no games streak.

Same could have been said of Ripken and Gehrig, too. Games played streaks do weird things to players and managers/coaches.

Yeah this may be it. Although I'm sure he and they are tempted to give him one last shot at going out next Monday at "home" to have a sendoff.

If he never plays another NFL snap, then his final pass attempts in Green Bay, New York, and Minnesota were all interceptions.

So he doesn't get paid for tonight either?

what?

Ed Werder was saying something about him not getting paid. I guess only if they put him on the injured list for the season.

Even Lions fans don't deserve to see a division rival's logo painted on their field lol:

He wouldn't get paid if he just quit/retired.

We're now one snap from Vikings meatball fans' wet dream of Joe Webb.

All INTs that essentially took his team out of contention for the playoffs or out of the playoffs themselves. Not that he didn't do way more than his fare share to get his team to that place, but still.

But if he goes on the injured list for the rest of the season he doesn't get paid either right?

Brett did have a great career, but he sure turned it to crap the last few years.

Yeah that 107.2 QB rating last year was so crappy.

I meant the whole Brett Favre-retiring-not-retiring-drama. His QB rating the last four years is 88.

Actually the last pass he's thrown as a Viking (thus far) was very early in the game against Buffalo, probably not the NFC Championship INT you're thinking of.

Yeah. I'm not even counting this year.

Was that really necessary? I mean, the place will be half-full of Lions fans, but let's bother to paint their logo on the field. That will make them feel as home. Just seems dumb.

The @kapman (plz re-tweet) said on CTL that the paint on the field was a major point of contention by the Minnesota owner in the discussions with the NFL over playing in Detroit.

Well, that's the end.

On the positive side, the Vikes look weaker than the Lions now. Hopefully they stay sucking like this for next week.

thank you to ahmad bradshaw and andre johnson for scoring touchdowns. i needed to win this week to make the playoffs and was facing a guy who had two empty spots and another lineup spot wasted on an injured player. but jay feely kicked about 35 field goals yesterday and my entire team decided to not show up this week (cutler, maclin, greg jennings, ivory, plus i lost frank gore for the year). that would have been such an awful way to lose.

Is your championship in week 17?

Please start next week Favre.

If the injury was so bad that it ended maybe the most impressive streak in all of sports, he's not going to be anywhere near 100% next week even if he plays.

Therefore, Jackson still gives the Vikings the best chance of winning.

no, 4 teams make the playoffs - week 15 is semifinals and 16 is the final.
