Assuming a Packers loss to the Pats next week, this is what we need to make the playoffs:

Packers beat Giants and Bears

Bucs lose any one of their last three games.

AND

Giants lose another game.

OR

Eagles lose two games (2 vs. DAL, 1 @ NYG, 1 vs. MIN)

Going to be pretty tough to get in at 10-6.

Skol Vikings?

That would greatly help. Tampa still has to go to New Orleans for the final game of the season.

arizona started john skelton, a rookie qb from fordham, a patriot league school. i'm sure this will turn out well.

And you say he's 0-5? No picks, at least, which actually gives him a higher passer rating than Orton atm

Awesome. He bobbles it and that throws off the coverage just enough for him to return it all the way. And we get bailed out by a penalty.

Since halftime on Thanksgiving the Patriots have outscored their opponents 113-10 in the last 8 quarters. That's two games. 6 of those quarters came against playoff teams and 4 of those quarters were on the road.

Holy [expletive].

Boy, I can't wait to face them with Matt Flynn.

Is this the first time in history a 5-8 team has realistically been in the playoff hunt?

Wow, Seattle is going to go 7-9, STL is getting 6-8 wins, and the 49ers could easily win 7. What a mess.

The Chargers made the playoffs after being 4-8 a couple years ago but they probably weren't a realistic chance until they were 6-8.

7-9 looks more and more likely to win that division. With two head to head games left between the 3 it seems like it would be inevitable that one of those teams would get to 8 but I just don't see which team it would be.

Yes, most likely. Seattle is going to lose the next two (vs. Atlanta, at Tampa). San Francisco is going to lose at San Diego. The Rams will probably lose to Kansas City. Entering Week 17, I think the Rams will be 7-8, the Seahawks will be 6-9 and the Niners will be 5-10.

The events of today still make it more likely for us to win the division at least.

Before today, the Packers had the tiebreakers on us, if they beat us in that final game. That's not the case anymore.

"he said 'it wasn't a very easy conversation for me, but Wes made it easy'"

I'm guessing the unstated part of the conversation was "it's okay, I know my father is a terrible coach"
