It seems like we've had our way with the Vikings defense ever since Frazier has been the DC. I wouldn't mind it if the interim tag was removed after this season.

The Vikings' personnel on defense (secondary particularly) hasn't been stellar since Frazier's been there.

I'd rate the QBs: Luck, Foles, Mallett, Newton, then Locker. I also really like Ricky Stanzi and Christian Ponder way more than I probably should.

I'd go Luck-Mallett / Foles / Newton / Locker-Stanzi with the "/" denoting a gap. I've seen Ponder twice and didn't like what I saw both times but I was told after the fact that he was hurt in both games. Newton and Foles could use an extra year; obviously Newton isn't going to get that and might still skyrocket into the top 10 given his athletic abilities.

I'd laugh if Stanzi gets drafted by the 49ers. Iowa City is nothing compared to San Francisco.

I don't get how Stanzi is considered a first few rounds pick. Before this year he was nothing, but he cut down on INTs and now he's getting talked about. I still see the same weak armed guy who can't make NFL throws and is kind of stupid situationally speaking.

Intangibles. He has a ton of them. Leadership, clock management, confidence. Also very mobile and can throw on the run very well.

I take issue with the clock management idea. Not on my eye test. He led some late drives in last year's run, but he takes bad sacks by holding onto the ball and isn't very efficient with his decisions. And while those are the typical intangibles of a solid college QB (which he is) they generally don't land you on the top of draft boards. Teams generally spend a 6th or 7th on such players and hope they can develop into a backup. I would put him below Kyle Orton when he came out and nobody was talking about Kyle Orton when he came out (at least in my mind).

I think you're under rating Stanzi's arm. He has been making NFL throws this season while cutting down the picks as you mentioned. He's 3rd or 4th round talent. Also, I think hawkeye is over rating him (understandable since he's an Iowa fan).

I have not seen many NFL throws. Or at least not with avoid NFL defensive backs NFL throws.

Frazier is the third member of the 1985 Bears now serving as a head coach in the NFL or college football, joining Mike Singletary (49ers) and Brian Cabral (Colorado). If Jeff Fisher had played one year longer he'd also be on this list.

he's also got a really slow release and terrible arm.

He plays in a pro style offense which has bumped many a quarterback up a couple rounds too early.

See: Leinart, Matt

Fair enough. I don't think he's a reach in the 4th round.

Re: Orton - I thought Kyle was a steal as a 5th rounder.

I didn't come away thinking Stanzi could throw the medium depth out route to the wide side of the field when I saw him play the last couple weeks. I think he can throw everything else though. He'll pick you apart in between the hashes and throws a pretty deep ball.

Pro-style offense gets him a bump up, but I still think he's a 3rd round talent. Definitely like him more than I liked Orton coming out. Better deep ball. Much better mobility.

What do people think of Robert Griffin? His throwing ability this season has really surprised me, and he seems committed to becoming a better passer and staying in the pocket more.

I can't help but see him and think "Kordell Stewart". Maybe it's the similar size and the #10, but Kordell was a decent looking college passer too. He has a couple more years left, so I gotta see how he progresses. I havent' seen too much Baylor football as it is anyway.

Thats the tough part is figuring him out while playing for Baylor, though he responsible for Baylor being where they are today. I don't know if the 2012 Olympics is still a goal for him as well, but that would give him 2 more full years in college before considering the NFL. 3800 total yards so far this season as a RedShirt sophmore isn't bad. From what I have seen his arm is fairly strong. Hope to see him in a decent bowl game. Was hoping for Michigan and Baylor just to see him and Robinson on the same field together.

Didn't expect them to put Young on IR.

I did after word that he might be placed on it came out. I think Fisher's probably done with him and placing him on IR gets him a bit more out of the media's eye.

Now, Bud Adams has until the offseason to decide who he wants to keep - Vince or Fisher. I hope Fisher.

Titans will sign Chris Simms to replace Vince for the rest of the season. I can't express how much I hope they stick with Rusty Smith as the starter. Simms has never been very good and Rusty has upside. Stick with the kid.

I disagree, especially the weak armed part. That's just not accurate. He doesn't have a cannon but it's definitely NFL quality. He throws a really good deep ball. The one throw that's in question is that deep out like raw said, but that's typically a question mark with everyone and most of the guys who can make that throw are deficient in other areas. I also disagree on the situationally stupid stuff. Not by college QB standards. KC Joyner agrees in the linked piece.

Yeah there's some bias on my end but it's more because I've seen every throw he's made in college than just being a Hawkeye. He's done more than just cut down on INT's this year also. His yards per attempt is up a yard and his completion percentage is up 10%. That's substantial.

He's got 23 TD to 4 INT's, completing 66% and averaging 8.9 yards per attempt for 2,677 through 11 games. He's 6th in the country in pass efficiency and has more attempts than anyone ahead of him besides Mallett. Considering he's doing it in a pro-style offense and a BCS conference, that's impressive.

Kiper says he's a 2nd/3rd rounder. Here's the article KC Joyner did for ESPN breaking down his whole season: Joyner Breakdown

what is fisher's problem with young? i'm sure if kerry collins were healthy he'd just start him until he died.

It all started when Vince was drafted. Fisher wanted Leinart, Bud Adams (the owner) wanted Vince - so Fisher got Vince like it or not. The reason Fisher wanted Leinart is he'd prefer a QB the style of Kerry Collins - pro style, drop back passer with a good arm and good field awareness. Very little of that describes Vince.

I think Fisher has carried the grudge of having Vince forced upon him ever since.

Norm Chow (OC at USC with Leinart) was also with the Titans at the time they could have drafted him, right??
