I don't get to watch many Bulls games here in Texas, so this may be a dumb question. Does the rest of the team (minus Boozer & Noah) always suck as bad as they did last night? They were brutal to watch. Poor DRose was out there all by himself, it seemed.

Pretty much. Deng has the occassional good game every now and then, such as Monday's game. Besides that, the rest of the team isn't very good.

Yep.

Deng has the second most minutes of any player in the NBA, and is usually gassed by the second half of a back-to-back. No idea why Korver and Asik couldn't get more minutes yesterday. And if Boozer is unavailable, you either have to use Scalabrine or bring in someone you can use as a 4th big.

You're talking about the 4th best players and so on being slotted up to 2nd and on... of course our 4th best player isn't going to be a very good second fiddle.

The supporting cast is good, but no team will look very good without its second and third best players.

We were playing Charlotte, not the Spurs or Celtics.

Which just happened to be the 4th game in 5 nights, and second without over half the offensive production.

And losing our 2nd and 3rd best players puts us close to on par with them.\

Not to mention the whole 4 games in 5 nights thing.

You're right, though... it would've made more sense had we lost by 1 point to the Celtics or Spurs last night :-k

All true, in my estimation.

We're just not going to be very good until we get better players back. It really sucks, but there you go. This is what we have right now.

Not much can be done. I still enjoy watching Rose, but it was pretty frustrating last night. Especially that one possession late where the Bobcats kept getting offensive rebounds and finally scored on like the 3rd or 4th shot. I've got to figure Noah gets the rebound and we turn it back the other way. That's just one possession out of any entire game, but I was thinking -- here we go, can't do anything about this without our better players.

I mean, I'm no expert but duh -- if they keep getting to take shots over & over eventually they'll score.

You've got guys like Korver flailing around trying to pull down rebounds and defend down low. That's what it looked like to me. Guys completely out of their element just trying to fake it.

Fun, we get to get our asses kicked on national TV.

Fun, I don't have to listen to Stacey King!

Eh, they'll give it to Pop if San Antonio runs away with the West, as it looks like they are.

The Bulls hope the Nuggets might accept a trade of Luol Deng, Taj Gibson and first round picks.

Are they talking about Carmelo Anthony or Joel Anthony?

The only way the Bulls can even make a deal is by including Deng (at least somewhere). Not sure Denver has much in the way of leverage left aside from them liking the Knicks' package better, or just stonewalling and making Anthony stay.

I'm going to assume Denver's going to hold onto him and sell to the fans that they plan on re-signing him. If he doesn't, they'll paint Carmelo as the bad guy and management will sort of get a pass from the public.

Think about how poorly Denver has handled this whole situation. Does anybody think that they're going to trade Carmelo now that their best bidder has pulled out of the race? I don't.

Does anyone think New Jersey is actually out of the running?
New Jersey's owner does, which has to count for something.

Do people really think Denver's dumb enough to take on Deng's contract in return for Anthony?

No, but somebody has to take it for the Bulls to get Anthony, so if Anthony really wants to play there, they'll have to do something with it.

No, the Bulls don't have a chance at getting Carmelo. I'd be very surprised if Carmelo is moved at this rate.

I do, actually. It might just be the Russian accent that terrifies me, however.

Sidenote: Is this the final year in Anthony's contract?
