Whether or not its deserved (and it probably still isn't, IMO, but I'm slowly moving in that direction) Derrick Rose for MVP definitely picked up a lot of steam tonight. Not only did he go and beat the other contender, LeBron bricked that last shot, and the knuckleheads will latch on to that.

I almost sympathize for LeBron in this instance, he goes and gives his wide open shooter a game winning opportunity? Lambasted. He goes and forces up a shot because thats whats expected of him? He's gonna be torn to shreds. I'm sure he's fine with hisself and his millions of dollars though of course

What a great win after a disappointing game last night and no move today. Definitely a good way to shut us fans up who wanted a move made.

Eh, the win's nice, but Bogan's 2 point, 1 rebound, 0-4 from the field performance didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence. If he's not going to get any minutes late in games, we basically have 2 guys who can play the 2 and 3 on both ends of the court.

I guess I'm fine with today's lack of moves though, especially with the minutes Asik got. He was likely going to be involved in any trade, and if he was going to be behind Thomas in the depth chart, for whatever reason, that was fine with me. But I'm glad since we're keeping him around he's going to get his 15 minutes a game. He played awesome tonight, +17 in 21 minutes.

I'm fine with everything Thibs has done this year outside of Bogans. Just start Brewer already. There is nothing Bogans does better. Bogans will be just as productive coming off the bench.

Best tweet of the game

Is Chris Bosh (1-for-15) so worried Omer Asik might be diving at his ankles that he can't concentrate on the rim?

Well now that we're stuck with the team as is, I almost want to keep the rotation the way it is now. Like you said, "Bogans will be just as productive coming off the bench." Well, honestly, that's not very productive. Do you really want him on the second team with guys like Asik, who really has no offensive skills so far, and CJ, who doesn't really do a whole lot either? I like Brewer playing with those guys. Him, Korver, and Gibson give you a lot more offense than you typically find.

Come playoff time, sure, switch it up. But for the regular season, if Bogan's going to be in the rotation, I'd keep him in the starting line up.

That is something I've been thinking a lot about though. It seems like 3/4 of the NBA has pretty much the exact same rotations for most of the game, no matter who they're playing. I wonder if there's a more efficient way to approach that subject.

I think that's part of the reason why the Heat have been so successful, especially against weaker teams. No matter what, Lebron or Wade is almost always going to be on the floor, and when one of them goes up against a weaker second squad, they can just dominate and let the Heat pull away. Could also point to why they struggle so much with the better teams too. Most teams don't have a player with the defensive skills of Brewer on the bench to pick up their best guy when Deng is resting.

soooo pissed i wa sunabl to watc this one or follow it in any way

for people who watched it, you can you give me some details? i mean i see the box and the PBP and stuff, but that doesn't really tell me how the experience of watching it was

Thibs whipped Spo tactically in the 2nd half. Asik locked the paint down for the the entire 3rd quarter. Bulls bench won almost every 50/50 play against Miami's bench. Bosh was hilariously awful. Deng was a mad man. Rose made enough plays.

Stressful. Rewarding. Crowd almost seemed into it. Usual chants of MVP raining down on Rose. Swirsk dropped an ONIONS, BABY, ONIONS on Deng's 3-pt shot.

LeBron might indeed be the best player in the league. But in terms of taking the last shot with the game on the line, he's not in MJ or Kobe's league. Not even close. I'd rather DWade have the ball in that situation.

Kobe is very bad at taking the last shot. read http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/24200/the-truth-about-kobe-bryant-in-crunch-time.

Well, everyone agrees that he's bad. The disagreement was about what a trade to get rid of him would be, and Asik just kicked a lot of ass tonight

also im laughing my ass off at bosh's 1-18. that's remarkable.

It is the worst single-game shooting performance in the NBA since 1973.

Wow.

Well, I guess the truth is he won't likely do that again. But it's fun to see happen against us.

Start either Brewer or Korver. Put Bogans in a suit and be done with it already.

im assuming the reason noah played so few minutes was because of foul trouble?

I think part of it was Noah being in foul trouble, but Asik was razor sharp on the defensive side last night. In the third quarter, it was obvious that Thibs was chosing Asik over Noah. Noah did get back in at the end of the fourth, but to me it was pretty clear that Thibodeau was riding Asik till they got a decent lead. I'm pretty sure the only reason Asik didn't go back in was because Miami went small to try and make their comeback.

Noah just doesn't seem to have his game together quite yet. He was -11 for the game, and if I were to guess I would have guessed even worse than that based on how the Heat was scoring while he was in for the first half.

So the Bulls offered Memphis Brewer, 2 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick for Mayo.

Wow. Surprised they turned that down.

I'm assuming they were figuring they could force the Bulls' hand into giving them an even better deal. What I heard on the radio made it sound like Memphis wanted a combo of Korver and Bogans/Brewer and the first round picks. It was Houston that was pushing for Asik.

Noah also looked gassed in the second half.

not surprising, especially considering he's probably been jacked as [expletive] for this game for weeks now.

it'll probably be a couple weeks until he's himself, and then we FINALLY get to see this team as a whole.

pretty amazing that we're 39-17 without playing with our real team yet (those 9 games where noah and boozer played don't really ount. boozer was just coming back and noah was already hurt)

and if that mayo proposal is real, im glad they turned it down. as much as i wanted a 2 guard, that's too much for mayo
