Brady reportedly expressed disappointment with Randy's behavior, and Brady told Moss that he should cut his beard. Moss responded by telling Brady to cut his hair, saying (per Casserly) that Brady looks like a girl.

I didn't realize they were 12 year old girls. In Randy Moss' defense, Tom Brady's hair was looking Bieberesque.

EDIT: Didn't realize it was posted a few pages ago. Still, it's worth a re-post.

Yeah, in fairness to Moss, I'd take his beard over Brady's hair any day.

Arizona scored 30 points today without an offensive touchdown. They had two fumble returns for scores, one interception return and kicked three field goals.

If they aren't going to go the college OT rules route, then they need to eliminate FG's in overtime. NFL overtimes are lame.

Everybody in the Patrios org is denying this. Nobody can confirm it. And apparently Belichek has gone on a rant about Casserly being wrong about stuff previously too.

“Who’s been wrong more than Charley Casserly since he left the Redskins? His percentage is like a meteorologist,” Belichick said. “He has no relationship to this team. I’d say less than zero. Based on what? He’s never at a practice, never at a game. … At least he put his name on it, which is more than a lot of guys. But, like he usually is, he was 100 percent wrong.”

Again, it's just not our year. I've never seen so many key players get hurt over the course of the first few weeks of a season.

If we don't make it to the playoffs, I'm really hoping McCarthy gets canned. It seems like whenever we get in 2nd and short or 3rd and short situations, we have less of a chance of picking up the first down compared to 2nd or 3rd and long situations. That's a playcalling problem. Enough is enough already.

This sucks. Wish the NFL could just use common sense every now and then.

The NFL forbids players from posting on Twitter within 90 minutes before a game, and Owens posted a tweet during the forbidden time. It was a nice tweet, but ... even nice tweets get you fined if they're within 90 minutes of kickoff.

"A lucky fan wearing my jersey 2day will get a signed football by Me & Ocho Cinco! My asst will pick U out!! Good Luck!"

That's kind of sweet, actually. And if you happen to be the lucky fan that ends up with the ball, please know that your new autographed ball cost Owens about $25,000.

Call it the No Fun League all you want, and call it a dumb rule (which maybe it is)....but how dumb do you have to be at this point to not follow the rules for tweeting? They've fined people (TO's own teammate, Ochocinco) for tweets already this season. They can't be distinquishing between each type of tweet...so they outlawed them all. Seems pretty clear cut.

Sweet?

Come on. There's nothing wrong with the NFL fining him for that. It's a very easy rule to follow and he chose not to follow it knowing what the ramifications would be.

Solid win for the Titans. The defense looked like crap for the first time all season, but the offense was very good. And a week after I ranted about the coaching staff needing to open up the offense, the coaching staff opened up the offense.

Vince's completion percentage hovered around 50% all day – which isn't good – but he didn't throw any picks and generally made good decisions. Still couldn't get a consistent running game going, but if we keep the offense opened up a bit that'll force defenses to loosen up. Then we can go back to relying almost entirely on CJ.

That was the most determined I have seen the Cowboys all year in trying to lose a game. I was actually happy with the adjustments the Oline made at half time. Miles Austin is a beast, and Roy Williams played very well for the 2nd straight game. The Titans WR are very good too.

That was the best I've seen the Titans' WR play as a unit all year. I actually was expecting us to give the game away as well. After the early 17-3 lead, Dallas scored twice to tie it and I fully expected the Titans to quit scoring and the Cowboys to pull out the win. Seeing us add three more scores after that makes me feel good – and makes me hope Fisher will continue to put a little more responsibility each week on Vince.

Miles Austin is really, really good by the way. That long TD catch was really impressive.

And for Raisin: Verner has started two games now and is looking pretty good. He's gotten beaten a few times and has looked like a rookie, but he made a really nice near pick-six against Dallas and is more than holding his own. He may be the full time starter to open the year next season, if not before.

You state injuries as an issue that might keep the Packers from the playoffs yet despite this excuse you want McCarthy canned if he can't lead you to the playoffs?

As a Titans fan, how do you feel about Vince Young as a whole? I don't know what to think of him. His passing numbers are mediocre for the most part, and doesn't seem to be a much of a running presence as I thought he would, yet when he plays the team wins. Is this in spite of him or does he play a big role in the Titans offensive success?

For most of Vince's career, I've thought his ceiling was Steve McNair and I really hoped he'd reach that. I'm wondering if he is, however. His problem has never been anything physical, it's always been reading defenses and making good decisions. He's improved his decision making quite a bit this year (not making flat out dumb decisions on where to throw the ball and not forcing it as much), but he still struggles with reading defenses and finding the best option against a certain coverage – best shown by his performance against Pittsburgh. I'm kind of concerned that if he isn't reading defenses well by now, he never will.

As for his running, I'm not sure if he isn't running as much by choice or if the Titan coaches are trying to make him a pocket passer. I've heard it both ways and I'm really not sure who is keeping Vince in the pocket. He needs to use his legs more, though, because that will always be the best part of his game.

As for the Titans winning, most of it has to do with the rest of the team. Kerry Collins was the QB two years ago when we had the best record in the AFC and without an injury to CJ, probably would have been in the Super Bowl. Last year, we started 0-6 with Kerry, but then went 8-2 with Vince. The key difference there, though, is that the defense played much, much better after the Patriot shellacking primarily because Nick Harper went out around then and Vincent Fuller returned around that time – he's a very undervalued player. This year, we lost the Steeler game in large part because Vince couldn't make a good decision against their defense (and nobody could hold onto the football), but we beat the Cowboys largely because Vince played pretty well. In short, I don't know that we're any better or worse than 3-2 with Kerry at QB at this point, though we probably don't win Sunday with him and we still lose the Pitt game.

I thought the same thing when I read that, but then he goes on about the playcalling. Perhaps said plays would have been executed properly without the injuries. Who knows. I just hope the Packers lose every game.

I saw the near pick-6 on the highlights. That was pretty cool. Didn't another Bruin, Dave Ball, tip it? I'm not surprised ATV is doing relatively well as a rookie - he's pretty technically sound which helps to make up for whatever he lacks physically.

Also cool to see Marcades Lewis with a monster game for Jacksonville.

Dave Ball did tip that, I believe. Didn't realize he was a former Bruin. That was a great read by ATV too. He saw that throw coming the whole way and made a great play on the ball.

Yes. I've always believed McCarthy is a poor in-game coach and I think it's very troubling that the injuries will be used as an excuse to keep him around after this year. It's the worst of both worlds, really.

That's actually not that bad for Finley. I was expecting much worse than that. Matthews is probably out this week because he re-injured his hamstring yesterday and Rodgers is obviously a question mark for Sunday.

Posted

I was driving back home from SIU yesterday and only watched the first half, so thankfully I missed the end of the game. But apparently on the deciding play, Rodgers was hit late by a defender who was off the ground when he hit him. The way we were playing, we still would have lost (that was the hit where Rodgers was concussed) so it more than likely wouldn't have mattered anyway.

I don't understand how Brady, Favre, and Peyton get these calls and Rodgers doesn't. It sounds like sour grapes but the face mask on the final play of the Arizona game last year was clear as day and they didn't call it. If the NFL truly wants to protect the QB's, make sure you use the same rules you give the other guys.

Posted

People would've been livid if they called that face mask at that point in the game against Arizona. I'm usually a call it the same way no matter what kinda guy but I would've been one of those people who thought calling a face mask in that situation would've been incredibly lame.

What you really meant to complain about was when Urlacher smashed Rodgers in the opener last year. Yeah, that probably should've been called a late hit.

It's still a face mask though, isn't it? If the league truly wants to protect the quarterbacks, shouldn't they actually protect them instead of just worrying about whether or not a defender is in Tom Brady's face?

Posted

I think they just missed the call in that situation, honestly. Wasn't the face mask occurring as the ball was being picked? In that situation, it's hard not to ball watch.

Even if I were the ref and saw it, I probably wouldn't have called it.
