Boston College is benching Dave Shinskie and starting someone else next week. Given our track record with young/unproven/first-time starters, I'm guessing I know what this means.

I'd like to see Auburn get Barrett Trotter some playing time at QB this week against UL Monroe...As much as Cam Newton gets hit, Trotter could use some more experience.

There are two reasons I don't think Saturday will be a blowout – 1: LSU hasn't been very impressive this year; 2: It's not a night game at Death Valley, it's a day game.

Actually, before Saturday I would have said Tennessee had a chance at an upset over LSU. Now, though, I find it very hard to predict Tennessee to beat any SEC team (except Vandy). So, hopefully we don't get blown out and hopefully Matt Simms survives another game.

Woo, Big Ten conference play. Now there's no reason to root against certain teams and I can just focus on bowl positioning. Michigan is probably the main target of that right now.

Finally my Aggies are on TV. Thursday night on the road at Stillwater. This is big for us. It will be our first real test. Hopefully we can take care of business because next week is Arkansas @ Jerryworld. Not looking forward to that one.

For the Indiana people here, I just bought my ticket for the Northwestern game in Bloomington on October 30th. Has anyone been to the upgraded stadium? Is parking nearby pretty easy? And what is the foliage like that far south in late October?

I have this really bad feeling that Michigan might lose to Indiana this week. I hope I'm wrong.

Michigan will win by at least 10.

Disagree. Tennessee has a good chance at beating both Vandy and Ole Miss. And they are a pick 'em against Georgia. I also would not be surprised to see them beat Kentucky. Every game is played on its own merits, and I doubt that UAB has any bearing on how we do in any of those games.

That said, UT could lose every one of those games, and I would not be shocked. 62 healthy scholarship players. Not enough healthy DB's to run a nickel package. That's unreal.

This. As long as Denard Robinson doesn't get hurt, Michigan isn't going to lose to any teams like Indiana.

They're mirrors of each other on defense, both have equally capable offenses and it's in Indiana. In fact, Indiana has the edge in the kicking game and a better kick return season so far, though punting is a wash.

You're right we can beat any of those teams, but not if we play like we did against UAB. The UAB game has no direct bearing on the rest of the games, but this early on, with this young of a team, it can't be dismissed as a fluke. We played very poorly all the way around and if we do that again against any SEC team, we'll lose.

I still think this team is better than it showed Saturday, however. The defense likely won't give up that ridiculous amount of yards very often (if at all again) and I don't think our receivers will drop incredibly wide open passes like Zach Rogers did in the third. I still don't like Matt Simms throwing the deep ball, however – not enough of an arm. I'm still holding to my prediction of 6 wins. I think it's likely we'll beat Vandy and Memphis and have a shot at Kentucky, Ole Miss and Georgia as well. I wish we got Georgia while AJ Green was still out, though.

Yeah, the lack of depth on this team is unbelievable. We'll get significantly better just from this year to next if all Dooley does is recruit 25 players and not lose any from this team.
